J9ball: Bought a cheap PH pen previously that lasted 1 use before it had to be recalibrated. The Apura pen is great, easy to calibrate and maintains calibration. I have periodically verified the reading with test strips and it remains accurate. Comes in a handy carrying case with laminated instructions and with calibration solutions that can be reused. Be aware the only calibration solutions that are not included are for high point PH and EC.

Gregor Kevrekian: I love this instrument. Very easy to use, quality feel and build. I used to have a Bluelab and found it to be glitchy and need calibration a lot. Have also tried cheaper meters which don’t give stable readings or just break. This thing is what you want for hydroponics. A+
One thing to note is that it comes from the factor set to PPM700 scale. If you want your PPM to read on the 500 scale (which is most common the US) you’ll need to adjust the settings (easy to do).

YMIYMI: When you receive your new digital meter. There are going to be water droplets inside the cover. That is normal and needed for the meter to function correctly. The company has done that on purpose. Stop complaining and saying you got a used device. It is not used lol it is brand new and packaged correctly. If there is crystallized liquid at the top of the cap that is also normal from the liquid, being stored in the cap sometimes crystallizes. Make sure to calibrate your meter and try it before you start complaining. These are great digital meters.

Martins_Mickus: This product seems great and precise. After months of using it I also seem to get TDS readings 0, I changed batteries and it seemed to jump a little over 0 but it went back to 0. After looking what else could be wrong I remembered about instructions and something about KCl solution, it was nearly gone from storing cap. I added KCl solution again and it looks like TDS meter came back to life.
So my recommendation is to follow instructions and take good care of this device.

CASEYLAB: I'm quite certain this is a high-quality product and worth all the positive reviews. I was really excited to have a device that would measure pH, salinity, and more in my saltwater aquarium. Unfortunately though, it can't be used to measure salinity in a saltwater aquarium, because it only measures salinity to 10ppt (saltwater aquariums need to be around 35ppt). Sure, I could keep it for the pH and other functions it offers, but for the price I can't justify keeping it when there are other highly-rated products out there at a lower price point that will do everything else this one does. I wish the product description would have been clearer about the salinity measurement limitation. I'll reluctantly be returning this and purchasing two separate devices, one for salinity, and one for pH, EC, TDS, etc.

M. M.: Si bien aquí en Amazon España se lleva casi 5 estrellas este medidor (en concreto en mi caso es el PC60 Premium de Apera) en otros países parece que hay ciertas quejas.

Supongo que porque sólo escriben los que han tenido mala suerte con algún medidor, o lo que creo más probable, es gente que ni siquiera se lee las instrucciones para saber cómo usarlo y sobre todo como conservarlo correctamente.

Lo he comprado fundamentalmente para poder controlar los parámetros de un acuario y por lo pronto no defrauda, todo lo contrario. Sobre todo el hecho de poder cambiar el sensor ("la punta") por más o menos la mitad de lo que sale el producto entero cuando sea necesario en un futuro resulta una gran ventaja.

Es cierto que hay juegos de medidores de pH y TDS por unos 30€, que viene a ser la cuarta parte de lo que cuesta este, pero a diferencia de este ni compensan temperatura, ni son waterproof, ni se puede cambiar la sonda y un largo etc.

Amazon Customer: This instrument has stopped working properly after just 4 months of use. Seriously disappointed about this. I have emailed a apera and am awaiting a response. Since it stopped working properly, I’ve looked at more reviews which also say that the instrument stops working after a few months. This is not a cheap piece of equipment and should surely provide more than 4 months of working properly!

Apera are very responsive and replied almost instantly to my email. They suggested a few things to try which haven't worked. They wanted me to sent the instrument back to OHIO! and pay the delivery costs. Fine, thought i, but as a result of faulty readings and using pH adjustments according to the readings I have ended up tragically with dead plants. Currently I have asked for either a replacement sent FOC or reimburse me so I can get another one quickly through Amazon prime which would be next day delivery. To be fair I loved this equipment up until is stopped working properly. It would have been OK if it had just gone off or gave really wild readings, but it didn't, so I hade appropriate adjustments according to the ph on the instrument. Massive error. My plants are now dead...

Stephanie A: I'm giving this 5 stars even though I had to return and replace the first one I bought. It worked great for about a week and a half. Then the blue backlight no longer worked and despite calibrating it multiple times, the PH of the water kept getting different readings that were too far apart (using the same glass of water and rinsing the probe in distilled water + drying it before testing again). I contacted Apera, outside of Amazon, to see if I should return it or if I was doing something wrong and they emailed me back the next day. Their suggestion was to return it because it was defective. That was great customer service. I requested a replacement through Amazon and they said it would take 4 days to get the new one. It got here 2 days later. We were very impressed and surprised. So far the new one is doing everything it is supposed to. It is easy to read, easy to adjust and the backlight is a nice added touch.
