Andis is a high-quality brand, and these clippers paid for themselves with one haircut for my cat. I had been worried about whether they would work on a long-haired cat without my purchasing another attachment--and no one clearly answered my questions about that on Amazon. But the clippers worked well, and they are easy to use. The DVD instructions weren't helpful, but I figured things out anyway. I highly recommend this product. My cat was calm around the clippers, too, because they're so quiet. Very satisfied.

I bought this to groom my shih tzu, the cost of grooming him was getting high so we wanted to start doing it at home.
This is a good starter clippers, it works well but it does seem to get very hot to the touch. I usually cut his hair in spurts, that way I don't burn his skin.

Ordered two months ago. Opened this am.
Started off strong for about 3 mins then barely works now.
Oiled and cleaned blades properly. Allowed resting time and still can't finish the job.
So now off to PetSmart to buy a real pair and throw these away bc they can't be returned now.
Waste of money for sure. At least if they had finished the job, I'd be ok with the price. Would still be cheaper than the groomer.
