Kathy: My son loves history! His has gone and read this book 100s of times and it looks it too. The bind didn't stand up to a 10 year old opening and closing it but it still serves its purpose. He still refers to it from time to time.

DENNIS HERBERT: Pic's add to the enjoyment of the stories. Some loved hunting, some golf, some keeping a good sense of humor as they deal with challenges- economy, school education, medical, and foreign relations, and wars.

Phil: I love this book. So easy to read and you learn such a lot about the guys from 1789 onwards. I looked at the four presidents on Mount Rushmore with new admiration after reading their biogs. Those guys achieved such a lot (at the expense of a lot of native Americans sadly.)

Sean Wooldridge: I like how this book pays attention to the lesser known presidents instead of doing what most history books do and gloss over them to focus on the cool kids. It gives a great context for some less understood eras in US history. What was going on between the birth of the nation and the pre Civil War era, for example? Exploring why certain presidents got elected and what they hoped to accomplish while in office offers great insight in that regard.

I think it was reasonably balanced in its depiction of some of the more controversial figures. Of course the Trumpsters are going to blow a fuse because he isn't portrayed as a god among men, but give or take a SCOTUS nomination count error, the facts are presented well and it paints a useful and enlightening picture of where the nation was at the time of each president's term.
