kbishop: Power button doesn’t work, but it is quiet and easy to assemble. The “pump” feature wasn’t great (very long and not very effective process), and I ended up filling the canister and priming the tubing manually. Once I had it going though, I have no complaints.

Paul A. Zukowski: I took a risk with this product as I have never heard of the brand. I have been in the aquarium hobby for many years. I have this canister filtration system now for nine months and it is excellent! Very quiet, no leaks and works as advertised. Easy hose removal for cleaning. The media works great and biological filtration gets established as needed. Really recommend this system.

M. GarzaM. Garza: We bought this about a month ago and it arrived in great condition. It took us about 30 minutes to set it up because we are new to canister filters but now that we know I think it takes less than 10 minutes to set up. Getting it to start pumping the water was a little difficult. I think it was due to how low we have our aquarium but once it started there was no stopping it! It came with bio-balls and a sponge that we literally just threw in along with some ceramic rings we kept in the previous waterfall filter and let it rip!

It has been working perfectly keeping the water crystal clear. We've never had an aquarium so clean without having to do anything! We've done the water changes just because it feels wrong not to do them but honestly, we test the water weekly and it is always within parameters. It is so silent that the only thing we hear is the air pump sitting on the other side of the aquarium.

The value you get for the price you pay is awesome. Recommended for newbies, you'll appreciate your hobby a lot more and will keep your fishies super happy.

Coyote: Very happy with this 850 lph filter/UV unit for the money. I'm using it on my 20 gal salt water tank and it's circulating 11 times an hour. It's smooth and quiet. Setup was a little tricky, I had to heat up the plastic hose ends with a butane lighter and apply a little Vaseline before it would slip on to all the connections - it wasn't a big deal. I thought I should mention this in case someone else has trouble with this. It's worth buying.

LifetimeAnglerLifetimeAngler: First of all i would like to say as water flow and filtration goes i would easily give this product 5 stars. It has a simple yet highly effective flow rate selector. Also the noise level is as loud or quite as you desire just based on how high or low you wouldn’t like to place the return head. To the negative. Bought this filter july 29,2023. As i write this it is oct 19,2023. Now we had just moved into our new home when ordered so it took us a little while to get ready for use with this product. We opened our package some time towards the end of September and plugged it in. Everything worked well except our indicator light for the uv would not turn on, now the manufacturer tells in the instructions to contact them if this issue arises. Well we have. Aka we have tried. It has been nearly a month of trying to contact and clearly we are past the return period of said product. Well I decided to take the cover off this product and found our issue. The protective glass case for the uv light shattered assumingely during shipping. I was hoping the issue was just the bulb (part#uvc-7w for anyone needing a replacement) I understand this review is long winded but as a summary. The product...

stompyd: I purchased this for a 20 gallon tank to help with cloudy water from algae as my little Aqueon filter couldn't hack it. I took it out of the box and whoa, it's a beast! I thought maybe it was going to be too much filter for the tank, I was wrong, it's a great size. The canister itself goes together very nicely and both inlet and return connectors are clearly marked and very strong. The hoses are beefy and very stiff, which is the only troubling issue that I'm dealing with. The very simple and small instruction pamphlet suggests to soak the hoses in warm water to make them more pliable. I did this, it worked ok, until the hoses got back to RT. The tube sizes are quite large and the tank lid does not sit flush. I belive I will change to a tank mounted light rather than a top. I've found the intake tube to be very long and is sitting at the bottom of the tank, I'm not really a fan of that, but so far it seems alright. Priming... well, the priming pump on the canister is smooth and has decent suction unless there is a lot of air in the canister, and this made priming the tubes quite frustrating. I'm not an expert, fairly new at keeping fish, and I've always used a hang on the side...

Kristopher Jager: Bought the bigger 140 for my 30 gallon add says 30-50 for it but instructions even says its good for 20-30 and I agree. Tank is very clean and clear the skimmer part works awesome. Doesn't come with all the filter media so have to buy that extra if needed, I was able to use my media from my old filter which helped keep the good bacteria in and not have to start over for that. Definitely fully fill reservoir with water before turning on or will not work properly as it has a safety shut off incase of over heating or leak.
