BookLovin'Mom: Helping orient a patient with dementia to the time and day, this clock is a very valuable tool. The display is crisp, clear and easy to read. My in-laws have had this clock for over five years, initially for my MIL who has memory loss, but now my FIL has slipped to the point where he is no longer oriented to time and day. He frequently comments on how great this clock is and really appreciates it. Easy to setup, it sits nicely or hangs. Get this one!!

Victoria VanDoornVictoria VanDoorn: I had previously bought 2 of. These clocks for my elderly mother, and when she moved into a Memory Care facility, I hung one there, and took one to my house. Love mine!
Her’s quit working (after about 5 years), so I bought this new, larger American Lifetime 12 inch clock. It really orients her, because she has no grasp of the day of the week, or month without it. The large display is easy for her to read, even without her glasses on. I heartily recommend this clock to everyone, but especially for those with memory impairment.

MichaelA: We purchased this for my mother-in-law who is suffering from memory loss related to dementia. She has been struggling with what day it is for some time. I friend suggested we look at a clock with the Time, Day of the week and and the part of the day (morning, afternoon, evening). This has been perfect! It has a large display that can be seen form across the room and the text is clear and bold. We went with white text on black and it has been great! It hangs on the wall where it can be viewed from anywhere in the apartment.
I really recommend the American Lifetime Dementia Clock. It has been a gift to my mother-in-law and to us! All we have to say is, "do you see the clock? What day is it?" and she can tell us and calm her fears. THANK YOU!!!

spartangirl: I purchased this clock for my sister who has serious memory loss issues & is not always able to remember to take her daily medication. This clock is so bright & easy to read & provides her with regular reminders to take her meds as well as the date, day & time. She loves it & it has really helped to keep her on schedule with her medication as well as appointments etc. It looks great sitting on her end table in the living room where she spends most of her time. I really appreciated how easy it was to set up (the set-up booklet was so easy to follow). I wish we had found this sooner & I would highly recommend this product!

Sweet TeaSweet Tea: My husband has moderate Alzheimer's and now knows by himself the date, day, time, and time relative to 24 hours (morning, night, etc.). The clock display is so sharp one forgets it is a clock, more like a painting. Our younger visitors (those from5 years to under 75 years) sit and watch the time change. The clock frame is attractive, and neither obtrusive nor cheap-looking/flimsy. We usually get an atomic clock but this clock far surpasses our expectations.

UPDATE: We bought a second one for the office. His neurologist emphasized the importance of his being orientated to date. He can now remember, with minimal cuing, that it is November. And that the big holiday is Thanksgiving.

Faith Wilde: My husband is going through chemotherapy and has some brain fog which ends up having him ask me 60 times a day what day it is. I bought him this for times when I’m not around and he just loves it. I think it keeps him calm because he gets anxious when he doesn’t know the time or the date and this way he’s in control. It’s easy to use, I set up a remind for him to take his meds and it’s nice and big but not obnoxiously big so it doesn’t scream senior! Or memory loss! This was an excellent purchase.

Mr. N. Edwards: [UPDATE 19 Feb 2018. Since I set the clock on Boxing Day, it has gained 2min 12 sec. This equates to about 2.5 sec per day or 1.25 min per month. Apart from that, the clock is still working perfectly. Original review & updates follow...]

[UPDATE 26 Dec 2017. When I went to see my mother in law on Boxing Day, it gave me a chance to check the timekeeping on the clock. It has now gained 135 seconds since it was set on 9 Nov. That is only 48 days which equates to an average gain of 2.8 seconds per day. Although this doesn't affect the primary use of the clock (ie to indicate the day in the week) I believe it is unacceptable and have reduced my rating to 3 stars]

[UPDATE 8 Dec 2017. We have just done a time test on the clock. It has now been in use for 30 days and during that period, it has gained 80 seconds, roughly 2.5 seconds per day. This is disappointing but not serious enough for me to change my opinion.
However, it is possible that this may be due to the 2 hours that it was running from battery while it was moved from our house to my Mother in Law. So, I will update this review again in about a month. Original review follows...]
