Amazon Customer: One of our cats had a flea infestation and the most common product to try first is Front Line Plus. I saw Amazon Basics had a comparable product that was supposed to be the same product for a more reasonable price. The cat was having a severe allergic reaction to the fleas and was losing hair and had open sores on her back. She was pretty miserable.

I ordered the product based on the apparent good rating and number of reviews without looking closely at the actual reviews. that was a mistake. I got the product and applied it as directed. I waited for 24 hours and kept an eye on the flea activity on her bare spot. After 24 hours, there was no effect on the fleas at all, and they just kept getting worse. I thought maybe it was just taking more time to start working. I kept monitoring the flea activity, and 48 hours, then 72 hours, then a full week passed with no change at all. I thought I had maybe not applied enough directly to her skin, or there was an issue with the dose I used, so I actually re-treated her early after about a week, and was very careful to get it all on her skin while applying it while she was sleeping. Karen : I LOVE this flea and tick medication. It's just as good if not better than than that crazy, expensive Frontline. The itching completely stopped within a few hours. It's so good. I've had animals over 30 years and I never use Hartz and the other junk they sell at stores. This is a GREAT alternative to Frontline. It's works amazing. I am so thankful for this product. Was able to treat all of them instead of splitting. USE THIS....it's SUPER GOOD and AFFORDABLE!

Kiley B.Kiley B.: unfortunately this product didn't work for us! This was the first time in a LONG time I used topical over oral for ticks/fleas. I normally go to my vet as well, but we noticed our indoor/outdoor cats had fleas and needed something quick. Could have been because the fleas were really bad in our area this year, but the medicine did nothing to rid us of the flea problem, so my dogs ended up with them as well. I haven't found any ticks on them so I would say that is a pro. But as far as them killing the fleas it didn't do its job, we waited until the following month to retreat, and try the product again, but it failed the second time as well. I even made sure to get a helping hand to separate the hair on the back of the neck to make sure the product could penetrate into the skin. Also remember to keep cats separated for the time suggested on the box as cats are lickers and will groom one another when they're bonded, and you don't want them licking the treatment! I will definitely be sticking to the oral pills from now on once spring comes back around.

Stefcat53: This does work but I’ve a question about the quantity of the dosages per tube, and the strength of the medication. Fipronil will not work if you’ve used it for a long time, use other products that have it as an ingredient, it’s too diluted, or it’s applied wrong. Some cats have a skin reaction too! If the fleas are un effected then switch to an imidacloprid based product. Overall this Amazon product is a decent one.
