C. Gill: This UPS sits near where the telecommunications equipment panel for my residence is mounted. The previous version of that equipment came with a modest battery backup, but designed to only power telephone calls and not the video or internet services. That's no doubt because telephones are usually considered to be essential equipment in a crisis, but not TV or internet services. Plus it probably takes more power to keep those other two services running.
The current version of that equipment is much more compact and efficient than the previous version, but now no battery backup is provided. I decided to get a simple UPS with more capacity than the service provider's previous unit, but with just basic features (no display screen - just a switch, a status light and an audible alarm), as it is intended to power just the new telecommunications rig. So far it has worked with zero problems, and since the equipment is mounted inside I don't have to worry about the weather affecting it directly. Only one power outlet on the UPS is occupied; the unit is mounted high enough to read the status light at a glance, and it's sitting on its side to avoid anything (leaking water,...

Stan: Been over a year now and still doing a great job! With too frequent power blips, this unit has saved our network server on numerous occasions! Love the USB connection to see status too!

Amazon Customer: Have had this going for about 4 months now. Works on my Unraid server and has successfully worked when we had a few power outages.

*Edit* running it for almost a year now and no problems whatsoever. Works exactly as anticipated.

Peter Hu: Bought this one as an alternative, no high expectation to start! But, I was wrong! For the price, decent build quality, good amount plugs spots, more importantly it does the job. So far we had experienced 2 blackouts, every time this thing kicked in and did its job. It kept my internet modem+wifi+security system alive for long enough for power to be restored. (once lasted 30 min, 2nd time it was 2+ hours).
Recommended for the value and piece of mind.

Donald Mulders: I have not yet had the occasion to fully test this UPS, but I have used its smaller cousin, the UPS 1000VA UPS on different hardware, and it works exactly as it should during a power failure. It is definitely easy to install and configure, and the instructions are clear.

J. Brown: The setup was easy. Four of the sockets use the backup power, the other four don't. So I hooked up just the necessary things for backup: My PC, monitor, and router. Then I pulled the plug out of the wall. There was no interruption whatsoever - everything just kept running. It said I had 26 minutes of battery time. So I'll break that down, because so many people want a time estimate. I bought the 600va/360w version.

My PC was built to be low power consumption. I estimate it consumes 150w, maximum, and much less when idle. The monitor is a medium-sized 1080p monitor. I am guessing it takes 30w. That's a blind guess. The modem, maybe 15w. So that's less than 200w, and I get 26 minutes running time. Your desktop PC probably uses a bit more power. I'm on a circuit that blows frequently, so I only need a short time while the circuit is reset. So if you're only supporting a router/modem, it should last a very long time. It is apparent to me that many of the unhappy reviewers are need a commercial-grade solution and are expecting much more power and features than this simple, inexpensive UPS has. The unit is rated at 360w. As you approach that...

JE D.: Bought a couple of these to use at the camp, and a great job they do. We currently use them to provide power to LED lights when the generator is not running. We originally bought them to trial and are very impressed so far.
We have used them without a recharge for up to 4 days for lighting up the living area and bedrooms. No issues so far. The wife gets mad when the generator runs out of gas and shuts down part way through a movie, this will power her laptop, 150w sound bar and a 40 inch led TV for a limited time. I plan on getting a couple more to power additional devises as I hate the sound of the generator running. These allow me to run the generator long enough to make ice, recharge them and then shut it down.
We plan on taking them home in the future to use for the same purpose as at the camp during winter power outages.
Definitely would recommend this product. - Be smart and buy bigger (more power by the hour) then your needs require. They are more practical for me then an out priced solar system.

C. Okamuro: A friend of mine recently moved into an apartment and promptly equipped it with both Canary and Arlo equipment. She came home one day to find that the maintenance staff had switched out her refrigerator, but she hadn't gotten any notifications. We were able to determine that the staff had cut power to the unit before entering. She asked if there was anything that could be done to keep her security surveillance going, and I suggested a small UPS. However, in my circle of people, I can't make a suggestion like that without then being asked to make a specific selection. After a cursory search, I settled on the AmazonBasics Standby UPS 600VA 360W UPS.

Amazon has a self-branded UPS? Of course they do. I couldn't tell you who makes it for them, but it looks to be about the same as any low-end CyberPower or APC unit. The unit is part UPS, and part power strip. It looks like a power strip with a thyroid problem... the housing is chunky, but what do you expect when you need an SLA battery for power? Even though there's a smaller (400VA) unit, I decided to overbuy on capacity, since the incremental price premium was so small. All that's plugged into the...
