Brittany D.: Ok so our Son has a crazy amount of Hot Wheels tracks and of course most of them need D batteries. We have tried store brand ones, as expected they don't last long at all. I hate to buy name brand for the amount we go through so I figured I would give these a try, I am so glad I did. They not only all worked on arrival but are still super ZOOMING those cars around after many many hours. So when we find ourselves needing more we will be grabbing more of these.

Gump: I find these pull their weight pretty good in longevity, However to be truthful they definitely don't rank up there with Energizer or Duracell, but then I ask myself, if a Duracell or Energizer lasts a year in my flashlight for example and Amazon Basic lasts 8 or 9 months but are also way lower in cost, so can afford to change more often, does it really matter? The only place I can see an advantage is the item requiring batteries is very hard to get at, or battery exchange is difficult, then you might want to go with the higher priced batteries, , but cost wise, Amazon basics are a great buy

Doug Landon: Yes, Amazon Basics D Cell Batteries are good batteries. Cheaper than the big brands and they work just fine. I'm sure they're all made in the same factories so why not save a few dollars on Amazon Basics batteries.

I use them in my Blink Floodlight Camera and we see all sorts of wildlife, thanks of course to Amazon Basics D Call Batteries. The raccoons and skunks and cats and bears and foxes all show up on my cameras every night. Maybe they would not show up with other batteries, although I have a very low prior that the brand of battery would have a causal impact on nocturnal wildlife patterns. But you never know. Why take that chance? So I always use good batteries like Amazon Basics D Call Batteries and you should too.

Marty: Purchased on 09 SEP 2023; Received on 11 SEP 2023. Batteries' voltages tested on 11 SEP 2023.

Each battery is marked with 03 2028, which I assume is the 'good through' date. The batteries are advertised by Amazon as having a 5-year shelf life, so I suppose I can complain the batteries I received only have a 4-and-a-half year shelf life. However, I am not really worried about it as I suspect I will have either used the batteries before then, or they will last beyond that date. We shall see. Because of the reduced shelf life, I reduced my review by one star. (If half star ratings were allowed, I would have rated them 4.5 stars.)

Because others had complained the batteries they received were below a nominal 1.5 volts, I checked the voltage of each of the 24 D cell batteries I received immediately upon delivery. Obviously, each battery I received was above the nominal average for alkaline batteries.

Of course, I cannot predict for how long the batteries will hold their charges, nor for how long each battery will last once I put them into service. However, I expect they will store long enough, and last long enough once I put them into service, so that I will not be...
