ALOVECO Christmas Snowflake Projector Light Display

mollymc: The light itself when aimed at a solid structure is pretty good. I was disappointed the lights don’t show on a solid hedge of trees.
The problem: Where the cord goes into the projector, the wire is exposed making it go on and off. I should have returned it right away as when I unpacked it, a bit of bare wire was exposed at that point. I season use it’s worse. My window to return has closed even though it’s just now one year.
Not sure what I’ll do.

James B: I was afraid it wouldn't live up to its billing but I was impressed! The snowflakes look very real and are crisp and bright (in a dark room)! As they float across the ceiling, it looks like a dizzying display of falling snow, coming at you from all directions. Big snowflakes, smaller snowflakes, and small white dots, all moving in different directions. Quite mesmerizing! The coverage area is not that large. It isn't really meant to light up your house with snowflakes. I would guess maybe 10 feet across is the extent of it with the unit a reasonable distance from the wall. You get it too far away and the brightness will drop off to where you can't see it that well. I like it.

gballagballa: First the bad. 1) It’s really dim; at about half the length of the supplied cord, you can’t really see the snow flakes on an outdoor wall if there’s ANY other lights around. 2) the plug is a bulky transformer and cannot be plugged outdoors without a protective case; it does not fit in most commercially available plug cover boxes. 3) because of the above, the cord cannot be extended so you’re out of luck if your plugs are not close enough to the setup location. 4) The plug arrived missing one prong! (See photo); they specifically say in the instructions NOT to change transformers, so I’m a bit stuck on this one. 5) construction feels cheap, light plastic, the round base won’t hold up the light so you will have to screw it on something (a piece of wood, for wright?) or fashion dome Velcro support if you’re using it indoors.

The ok bits. 1) it IS a pretty display of snow flakes and flurries, perhaps the best I’ve seen. And that’s about it for the good.

In conclusion, this is a pretty display if you’re looking for an indoor projection. For outside.... the use will be very limited, light is dim, and the plug is just too cumbersome and...

JSS: The projection range in this description is complete nonsense. The projection fades significantly if you are more than 10' from the surface you are projecting on. The light output from these lights is extremely low and not recommended unless your environment is very dark. It took me four lights to fill a portion of my house that was about 15' x 15' from 16' away but the lights were so dim you could barely tell they were snowflakes.

The assembly is straight forward but requires screwing the base onto an arm and screwing both of those pieces to the light itself. The arm does not pivot 360 degrees like many other projection lights so you have to take extra care when positioning the light.

Another issue is the plastic lens fills with condensation so easily it further reduces the light output. Also, be weary of the model you are buying. I purchased the exact same model under another brand for half the price. This is one of those situations where one supplier is fulfilling for many sellers under different sub brands but they are all the same product.

D. Anthony: Was so excited to receive my snowflake projection light, then I set it up. Everything worked fine but the projection span was entirely too small for the front of our home. In addition, if I placed it more than 10 feet from the house even the area it covered was hard to see. May be because they are white lights and not visible with other transient light. But definitely not useable for our house. If you will be using on a very small outside area or inside the home the snowflake design is lovely. Bummed we can't use this.

UPDATE: Manufacturer contacted mer to try to make things right, they were very eager to ensure my pleasure with the purchase. I decided that this "white" projection laser just wouldn't work for us due to the amount of ambient light we get from the street light in front of our house.
