Wayne W. Perkins: I have three testers. I have a couple of miles of electric fence with blade switches on all corners. My other testers have voltage numbers only. Very hard to see after dusk. I have a go bag with testers and insulators,pliers, hammer and rubber insulated gloves. This is the only tester that I take with me.

Elmer Fudd: Both of my electric fence controllers output more than 7000V, so it is hard to say if this tester is accurate or not. It is low cost and easy to use, but a bit dim in bright sunlight (you can work around it).
The only less expensive way to test the fence is to tell your significant other that yes, the energizer is turned off - but that only works once.
