Karuna: The media could not be loaded.  Pros: the flight and movement of the butterfly was much higher quality than I expected, looks realistic. Both of my cats were immediately drawn to it and played happily for multiple 30+ minute sessions with this. Good for both super active kittens and slightly slower cats.

Cons: durability isn’t great- after the first 30 minute play session, the wire of the butterfly was slightly bent down, so the flight of the butterfly was no longer as nice as it was brand new. Also, one of the wings got bent as well, so the flapping wasn’t as smooth. Despite this, it can still be played with, but expect to be replacing the butterflies very often.

bgants: I have an outdoor cat who is one year old so it takes a lot to keep him engaged. Over the summer, I noticed he had a liking for butterflies so I thought this would be perfect. He's OBSESSED with it. It keeps the young nut busy when I am busy. The different speeds keep him on his toes and I like that it came with two attachable butterfly pieces/colours. My only suggestion for improvement is to make the butterfly rotation change directions. It makes a bit of a chirpy/flappy sound which doesn't bother me but may bother some.

Alyson: My cats get pretty mad at this thing, which is great because they smack that butterfly around like crazy. My issue was that the mechanism started to squeak loudly after 2 days and I've had to turn it off at night. The original intent of this was to run it at night while my cat was bored, but I can't do that now.

Online Reviewer: First, BUY THIS MODEL NOT the one from the other vendor with on/off switch on bottom of the unit; you want the on/off switch on TOP of the unit. They look identical except for location of the switch … but there’s a BIG difference in performance. That one had poor reviews; this one is tested awesome )on/off switch on top)!

Gracie has been playing w-this for HOURS EVERY DAY since getting this a month ago. I even join in, batting it back and forth with her. It’s been a wonderful bonding experience :-)

This model LASTS A LONG TIME. She’s had it about a month and I haven’t had to change the battery OR the butterfly yet! Very DURABLE. She plays several hours a day every day; and she’s no lightweight: it gets batted, sat-on, pounced-on, chewed, even batted by humans!

I even BOUGHT HER AN ADD’L UNIT so she has one on both 1st & 2nd floors … I got tired of running the toy up and down the steps, as she’d eventually cry if the toy wasn’t around for her to play with (and we never want a sad kitty).

Second, per reviews only ONE BRAND of BUTTERFLIES WORK with this unit so buy them WITH 1st ORDER. Do not wait until you need it or kitty cat may...
