Alcedo Automatic Digital Blood Pressure Monitor for Upper Arm Measurement

Dawn S.: This blood pressure monitor is super easy to use. Once it's set-up, which only takes a couple of minutes, the unit has just one button, which starts the measurement process. I'll forgo commenting on its accuracy until I've used it 10 or more times. It arrived today, and I took my blood pressure twice. The readings varied wildly. Besides the one touch start button , there are some very nice features: the arm cuff is sturdy and soft, the voice output is loud and clear, and it comes with a convenient carrying case. It can run on barttery or via a USB cable, both of which are provided. Great value for the cost!

N. Miller: It's hard to rate the accuracy except to say it's in line with my numbers for an older machine and it's fairly consistent. My numbers can vary 20 points but that's normal for me depending on time of day. I turned the voice off so I can't say how that works. Display is super easy to read. I always use it with power cord so cannot speak to battery use. The cuff is easy to put on and take off, which is not the case with other units I've tried.
One con: It's almost impossible for me to pick it up off the shelf without hitting the power button.

TM ConwayTM Conway: I use this every morning and evening & so far, it's reading close to the numbers I get at my doctor appointments.

PROS:
--This was easy to set up with the time & date (for both users). It comes with a "Quick Start" booklet & separate detailed instructions.
-- A secondary power source is important to me so I like that, in addition to batteries, it also has a USB plug-in.
-- The numbers are very large & easy to read. Even if someone can't read the LED panel, the machine speaks out the results. It will also mention whether your BP is normal or not (based on WHO). You can adjust the volume from low to high or mute it.
-- The cuff is clearly marked so it's easy to position it correctly on the arm (and the machine will let you know if not).
-- Having the case is nice to keep everything all together.
-- I'm not really big but I'm not skinny as I once was & the arm cuff fits me fine with a bit of room to spare.
-- The machine has warnings/errors for movement & irregular heartbeat).
-- The encased machine is compact enough that I can carry it with me to my doctor appts.

Ajami: As said above easy to use. The best feature is you don’t need batteries to work the machine. You can use USB cable with a power bank. My previous machine kills the batteries in no time.
Also the machine talks to you. It is consistent with the readings close to each other
The only thing that worries me is accuracy. One day I’ll take to my GP and compare the readings.

Garden Gnome01: Having just been diagnosed with T2 diabetes and elevated blood pressure I needed to record blood pressure several times a day. Simple to set up and easy to use. Uses x4 AAA, 2 user device if you need that kind of thing, and extensive memory function if you need to go back and check/compare readings. Slightly annoying music and voice while it inflates, but you can silence that. Reasonably large digital display. There is a useful video on using it on Youtube.

This is only only device I have tried so can't compare, but for my needs, more than adequate.

bob12241: I bought this after a bout of illness when a doctor suggested I monitor my blood pressure. I can't compare the actual readings, but knowing that (at a later appointment) my blood pressure was Ok, it gave me an idea as to where I was. I was then asked to monitor my readings for a month, so I set up an excel graph for ease of viewing. Contrary to what others have said You can turn off the the annoying sound. But when you change batteries (which it goes through quickly) it reverts back to factory settings and the sound is back. 2 annoying things are the item switches on again when putting it in the case, I had to remove a battery to stop this everytime I used it, and the tube easily pulls loose when using it if you're not careful resulting in an E4 error.
