John Edwards: I had this action camera and tested it for about 3 months, a few days ago while doing 45MPH on my motercycle, the clip on the top of the case failed and sent the camera flying out of the back of the case, where it kissed a trucks wheel, obliterating the camera. Before this incident I was more than happy with the camera, at 1080p 60fps I was able to record for a hour and a half, and the quality was good, the digital stabilization they use is satisfactory, not as good as Go Pro but this is cheaper, overall 3-5 stars due to the case malfunction and potential loss of private information.

Kennen Still: I love this camera and, I have to say, it’s great for the price. Personally, I use this camera in a lowlight setting, while playing airsoft. The only bad thing I can say so far is that in certain darker conditions, those that a name brand camera could pick up, this one cannot, but that is a minimal problem, and even it lowlight it works well. Genuinely consider purchasing one of these to intro yourself to action cameras before purchasing one of the expensive ones

JSo: I didn't want to drop a ton of money on an action camera and wanted something smaller than my cell phone to shoot video so I searched Amazon and the Akaso EK7000 got really good reviews. It's pretty easy to use. I took video in the house and it came out pretty clear. I'm taking video outside today and will update my review later. Going to have fun with this little camera. Battery life isn't all that great if you shoot video in 1080 but you do get 2 batteries. Date and time resets when you swap out battery but you can charge the battery while it's in the camera so maybe date and time stamp will stay (I'm trying that now). There's no EIS but we'll see if it does what I bought it to do.

Sarah M: I bought this as a gift for my dad and have borrowed it myself also. The quality of video is sharp and clear although this particular version doesn't seem to have the stabilization that is listed on the newer model. I love being able to capture our adventures when we go out and need to spend some time editing and uploading so our whole family can enjoy them. The only hurdle right now is my personal computer setup is limited, but once I get that upgraded I want to buy the newer model for myself with the stabilization and touchscreen and use my dad's as a second angle.

Great intro to the world of action cameras!

The app is not required for operating the camera but is useful for seeing what your shooting at arms length or otherwise out of sight -- when it works. I have a Moto G which is currently too full so the app glitches sometimes and won't connect. Hoping I can clear my memory and maybe that will resolve. The camera itself has always worked fine with no glitches.

Chad C: I like the outcome of the quality of the video, but it seems that at some light levels it has some bad transitions. I do not like that the sound is cut out about 95% with the waterproof case on but is not a huge deal for me. There is no way to mount it outside of the waterproof case using any of the accessories, so if you want sound, you will have to hold it in your hand while recording. If you're looking to make videos and add sound later, then, this would be a decent camera. I bought another Akaso camera with more features like zoom, a mount option without the waterproof case for sound recording, EIS, touch screen, and some other video quality options which I will be reviewing soon. Just got a couple of days ago and am excited to get out and test it out!
