Dino: I tried the tip of using over a bucket. But it shattered the bottom of the bucket first shot! Works a charm tho. Could do with a larger nozzle for the old 4” nails but not sourced one yet

hgschultz: An die Handhabung muss man sich gewöhnen. Aber VORSICHT !! Habe (im freien Umfeld) einen Nagel quasi "abgeschossen" und war erstaunt, wie weit er flog. M.E. Könnte man damit einen Menschen -oder auch sich selber- stark verletzen, wenn nicht, sogar........
Geholfen hat mir das Gerät sehr oft und ich kann es weiterempfehlen. Ich konnte damit Nägel nicht nur "austreiben" sondern auch Nägel"eintreiben", wobei aber wieder Vorsicht geboten ist. Den Nagel dann nicht mit der Hand stabilisieren oder festhalten, dabei entsteht Verletzungsgefahr.
In der Hand eines Sachkundigen ist das Gerät absolut empfehlenswert.

BazBaz: After breaking down a load of pallets for repurposing the wood for various projects and being thoroughly bored of hammering out every individual nail and pulling them from the other side I decided to investigate alternatives. Most search's recommended this air tool by air locker and since I already have a small compressor it sounded and looked like a good idea so I but the bullet and ordered one.

After getting it connected up via an adaptor I decided to attach an in-line oil reservoir as it recommends unscrewing the adaptor every so often and dripping in some oil, I figured this way would be a lot less messy and save me unscrewing an air tight connection over and over risking damaging it and losing the air tight seal. Once pressurised I liked it up with the first nail and pulled the trigger, there's a fairly loud pop and the nail was gone, the piston shot it straight out the other side and left a small indent where it used to be, I then proceeded to knock out the remaining nails and it becomes quite fun, taking seconds to de-nail boards instead of a couple minutes for each one, I ended up punching out 10 pallets worth of nails in around 20 mins, with a hammer it would of...

F. Sod: What a godsend. I was able to remove all the nails from a pallet I had pried apart in no time flat. Used to need a hammer or pliers to bend the nails back straight before tapping them with a hammer to get the head to raise on the other side of the board, so I could use a flat par to pry the nail out most of the way and sometimes have to finish with pliers for the extra long nails. Quite a process for one nail. This tool lets you do it all in one action. Slip the tool nozzle over the sharp end of the nail, bend it straight, pull the trigger. DONE. The tool has an adjustment so you can dial in how hard it hits. You can shoot nails across the shop if ya want. I dialed mine in so the nail came out 90% of the way so I could pull them out with pliers. The nails come out perfectly straight most of the time and other than the blunted end could be reused. Also it works fine on staples. just insert both sides of the staple in the tube and it usually comes out just like the nails. If you tear down pallets, GET ONE.

Dirkdaddy: I got this as I frequently dismantle pallets and getting nails out was painstaking. For many this sort of tool works well! For others they are driven mostly out but require a crowbar to get the final bit out. Its pretty quiet for what its doing, but ear protection is a good idea. As others have commented beware the flying nails! I found an old shop towel in a bucket was a perfect way to keep them from being a projectile! One deck board I was repairing the joist below it, I drove out a few nails from underneath - and they went waaay up in the air and bounced off the roof a few times. You could easily injure yourself or others with this tool and the way the nails fly off the back side! On that point, safety, I had another mentionable issue. I was sitting on a pallet and banging out nails with this and while switching boards I laid the tool in my lap and it has no trigger guard or safety switch and a pretty light trigger then Bang! It went off in my lap and the protruding anvil thing dealt a glancing blow to my man-parts, causing momentary discomfort! It could have been much worse if it was a direct blow, but beware it fires easily and unlike a nail gun doesn't have to be pushed up...

Jacob D.: The Air Locker AP700 does exactly what it is supposed to do, and does it very well: It efficiently, quietly, and accurately drives nails out of reclaimed wood. In an effort to reclaim a floor, I was able to effortless de-nail around 800 2" cleats per hour from 3/4" oak while keeping the wood excellent condition - an impossible task without this tool. Since it paid for itself after 20 sqft, I am very happy with the purchase.

It is the same body as the Harbor Freight #69719 Central Pneumatic 18-awg 1/4" Crown Stapler, with a custom hammer and nose assembly to allow guided extraction of nails. If you've ever worked with HF tools this should give you an idea of the quality, and professional grade is an accurate description: all metal, bare bones, would survive almost any abuse as long as it's oiled. The hammer is hardened, and was only slightly deformed after ~2500 fastener ejections. Not industrial by any means, but there are no delicate safety mechanisms or brightly colored plastic pieces to fall off as found in consumer grade tools.
