Steve: This was a temporary temp gauge I bought because I had to modify my BBQ. Today's BBQ's have a small hole for just the probe to enter the hood of the BBQ. My older BBQ has a 2 inch hole, but I modified my BBQ hood and now I can use these.
It reads really good and the numbers are easy to read thanks to the back backdrop and white letters. I still want a temp gauge that actually shows you what range is for smoking and what range is for searing. There are other ranges which some other gauges have more details, but if you want a good gauge that just tells you the temp then this is a good one.
Now the only reason I gave a 1 star for temp control is that this gauge does not control anything. It is a gauge that tells you temp, but not control it.

Brandon Nichols: Works great. Replaced one do slightly different size on Charbroil grill. Works great.
Main thing is that the hole the other comes out should be the same. I think they are standard, but matching the exact size is unnecessary.
