GMLA: We used salt to test the accuracy for humidity with instructions we found online. Accuracy right on. Temperature always agrees with the thermostat twelve feet away from it. Instructions for settings are easy to understand. Bird food crumbs fall on and in the slots in the top everyday; we just brush off the crumbs now and then. We use this hygrometer to ensure that humidity for our birds stays generally between thirty five and fifty percent.

ToolmanJohn: I used the wet/damp salt test in a zip lock bag for 24 hours, and it reads 75% . I notice too that it reads precisely what my large house humidifier reads too at 50% . I'm all ready for the winter. heating season. My house gets wicked dry with forced hot air, and I have been using a large 5 gallon humidifier (new to me) and was not sure of the accuracy of the readout. So I bought this little humidly meter, and wondered if either of my readouts were accurate at all. SO I performed the salt test and it seems accurate.

Orion Winder: I use these in the house and in the garage to keep track of humidity for my collection of metal erector type sets, and also the HO train layout. They've been perfect, very easy to read, and seem so far to be long lasting on batteries. We've much humidity issues here in the South, but these have made things so much easier to track and keep it under control. Even in the garage with temperature and humidity less controlled we've had no issue with them, and some other electronics have not faired so well there.

MQM: First off, this is initial review: I will update if things change in the future.

I'm actually quite happy with this product. I'm knocking one star off because it doesn't have a little stand to put it on. That has not been a problem for me as the table I have it on is very sturdy and does not wobble so it works fine. I do not seem to have the level of problems reading the meter as I have seen in other reviews. I mean really, it's your basic LCD. I can view mine from probably a 40 degree angle but not much more without really straining. But again, where I haven't it's not a problem. A couple of life hacks for you: while the unit does take a while to adjust to temperature, all I did was lean it up against a cold soda can. It did take a while, but eventually the temperature went down in about probably 40 minutes to a fairly accurate degree. What I did find, is that if you leave the cover off for the batteries it will adjust a lot quicker. I really could give a crap about the battery cover so for me it's not a big deal. Matheus: O produto é muito bonito, parece ser muito preciso, pois posteriormente comprei um ThermoPro TP50 e ambos apresentam praticamente as mesmas medições. Também possui ímãs bem fortes e tem uma base suficiente para ficar apoiado de pé.
Ponto positivo é que ele permite alternar entre o min/max de 24h e all time, porém o negativo é que as 24h não são as 24h imediatamente anteriores. Ele inicia um ciclo de 24h a partir do momento em que as pilhas são colocadas. Depois que atinge esse tempo ele reseta o track record e você verá apenas o min/max desde o último reset, não exatamente das últimas 24h. Então, por exemplo, se você colocou as pilhas às 19h00, o 24h min/max será desde a última vez em que eram 19h. Quando atingir esse horário novamente, começa um novo ciclo.
O maior ponto negativo, ao meu ver, infelizmente, é não trazer os decimais da temperatura. Isso prejudica o aspecto da precisão. Além disso, ele parece não arredondar segundo as regras matemáticas básicas, mas simplesmente ignorar os decimais, assim, suspeito que, se, por exemplo, a medição é 24,8 ºC, ele indicará 24 ºC ao invés de 25 ºC.

DAVID M.: Primero compré el modelo sin luz y al final terminé comprando este modelo con luz. Es la gran ventaja en la noche estar monitoreando mi mini split con el. El único defecto es que no tiene boton de apagado y encendido y como solo lo uso en la noche, tengo que quitarle en el día las pilas y volverselas a poner en la noche y esto es molesto

Peter SobczakPeter Sobczak: This review covers model AcuRite 01083M, two identical meters purchased in Sep 2018, about 2.5 months ago, $16.73 each. I like this meter very much, with time it became important part of my life. It did not happen before with my other gadgets that also displayed humidity and temperature.

ACCURACY. Both AcuRite 01083M show identical readings all the time, with a one time exception during 10 weeks time frame: Humidity readings were 47 and 48% for a few hours at home, both units standing within 1". Other meters showed less or more than AcuRite 01083M at that time, likely due to poorer accuracy, poorer speed.

SPEED. I noticed my other meters are very slow, compared to AcuRite 01083M, never agree - due to slow action. This is seen mostly when opening, closing windows in the morning, evening. With time I learned to ignore readings from other meters, presently rely on AcuRite 01083M only. It is both fast and accurate, made all other meters in my home obsolete.

MAGNETS. Two 3/8" diameter back side magnets for attaching to metal surface are also very nice - and surprisingly strong. I hear a loud click when attaching to fridge door and can feel quite decent force...
