Amazon Customer: This is hands-down the best book on investing I’ve ever read! This author shares my fear and uncertainty about investing. She talks with her dad throughout the books and he answers every single question clearly and concisely that anybody can understand it!! If you are scared of investing and don’t know where to start…invest in this book…you won’t be sorry!!

jack j. messina: One of the most thoughtful, complete, books I have read on investing. It documents Daniel's journey into the word of value investing; her fears and ultimate conquests. It is a very honest "travelogue", documenting the investing journey of an initially fearful, reticent investor as she navigates her way through the intimidating, arcane world of finance. It is detailed and approaches the Graham, Buffett, Town methodology of approaching the stock market as businesses you wish to own, not merely equities. Several practical approaches to determining and distinguishing market
price from the underlying fundamental value of companies are explored. Ms Town treatise simplifies complex theories on investing into reproducible principles that can be applied by the motivated student who seeks financial independence.

Ashes: It really helped me focus my investing. The best part of this book is that you learn right alongside Danielle as if you are both students in the same class. Even down to a little bit of personal situations, which makes the book more digestible for those who think this stuff is boring. Such a great way to get started in investing. I only bought this copy to loan to friends as I want them to also reap the benefits of the stock market and investing.

Juvat092: I enjoyed the book. It was an easy read that provided a lot of good info regarding the stock market as well as a good story from the author Danielle Town and her father.

Enjalbert: Money is something deeply personal and emotional for all of us. Depending on how and where we have been raised we will see money very differently, sometimes with greed, apprehension, fear or joy.

Invested is remarkable as it gives an emotional account of relationship with money and help us see the baggage we might bring to investing our money.

And it does it in a very personal and factual way at the same time. Danielle takes us through her investing practice journey and at the same time shares deeply about her personal journey that unfolds at the same time.

There is nothing better than books telling an emotional human story and Invested is such a book. It is also immensely practical to help people from from simplest concepts to the more complex ones.

And sorry for Phil Town. Before reading Rule #1, people should definitely start with Invested!

Niamh: Bought this off the recommendation from the youtube channel @InvestingWithRose and it did not disappoint. I am very much a beginner when it comes to investing, it's something I knew I should be doing... but I had no idea how to! The reasons I loved this book, may be a reason why others would not. It is a mix of numbers, mathematical formulas for how to pick a "wonderful company" alongside a really lovely personal narrative of Danielle's fears of investing and she voiced pretty much everything I was worried about too.
The book is really well structured in a month by month format from January to December with "investing practice" activities for you to do at the end of each chapter/month. Very easy and enjoyable to read (especially if you listen along to the InvestED podcast too) I will be re-reading it to hammer home all the important points and also will be getting the book by co-author Phil Town - Rule #1 investing. Definitely worth a read, even if the style of writing isnt to your taste EVERYONE will get some value from this book. Highly recommend

rza_razor: I listen to their podcast and had to buy the book as well. While the podcast is hugely informative and motivating, Invested is even better. Danielle really breaks down how to value companies in an easy to read and easy to understand way. Compared to other books about Buffett this one really stands out in that, it breaks down what to focus on to a few simple formulas and numbers. Further, the way Danielle wrote this, it's entertaining, and while you're educating yourself it's still a fun read. I've listened to most of their podcasts and again these are helpful, but it is hard to know what to do math wise after listening to them. With invested having all the number in front of you, it's pretty clear what you have to do. Going to wrap this review up, so I can get back to my spreadsheets :). Thanks again Phil & Danielle for helping teach us how to fish, and for writing it down and recording it so we can take it back and really learn the stuff. Well done!

Tomw5191: For anyone new to investing this is truly a good book to read and get a better understanding of the value investing world. Dannielle Town provides the added advantage of being relatively new to the investing world and really good at explaining concepts in an easy to understand way. I adopted the value investing lifestyle just after I finished University 11 months ago and have been able to pick up considerable information since then. Even so, I have picked up valuable content due to Danielle's easy to understand writing style.

As an avid fan of the Rule One podcast, I loved reading about the evolution of both Phil and Danielle Town's relationship getting better through the practice of investing. For anyone who has listened to the podcasts, you can see just how much she has developed as an investor which is a lovely aspect to read about. From all the investing books I have read I like the focus of the narrative on transforming one's self through the commitment to the practice. Furthermore for anyone who has read Guy Spiers book on the Education of a value Investor the narrative flows as beautifully in this book as it does in his. For anyone who has not read Guy's book I...

Kevin Mastaw: I read both of Phil Town's books, Rule #1 and Payback Time, for the first time back in 2010. Both were excellent in explaining the Graham/Buffett/Munger approach to investing and how the "little" guy investor could apply that approach to achieve similar 15% annual rate gains. In the intervening years, my Roth IRA, where I do my Rule#1 investing, has achieve a 19% AROR which attests to the fact that these investing principles work.

In addition to reading the books, I've been a follower of Phil and Danielle's INVESTED podcast and attended one of Phil's weekend workshops. So I began reading Invested with some curiosity but also with the expectation that I wouldn't learn anything new. With regard to the bottom-line Rule #1 approach, my expectations were validated to some extent - but what INVESTED did do was add clarity to this investing approach as well as force me to look at it from a fresh perspective.

INVESTED will also appeal to those who love a good story. All of the book is written from the perspective of Danielle who, despite the fact that her father is a very successful investor, never had any interest in investing herself. The book really is her story about her...

Kam: I absolutely loved this book! I've always felt embarrassingly ignorant of and intimidated by investing. It never made sense to me and my eyes would glaze over the second anyone tried to explain it. Still, I wanted to give this book a try, because I've always wanted to understand investing, as much as it scares me, and I hoped this book might help me gain more control over my finances. I can honestly say it did. By the time I had reached the last page, I felt empowered, excited, and informed. And I also felt unexpectedly moved. The intimate and engaging writing style held my interest all the way through. Finance is such a deeply personal topic, so it was refreshing to read about the more personal side of Danielle's journey, and to see how through overcoming her fears and turning to her father for help, they were able to move beyond past misunderstandings and strengthen their bond. Learning about investing alongside Danielle, both through her own explorations and through conversations with her dad, made a previously confusing topic clear and accessible. I finally feel like I have the tools to dip my toes into the investing waters, and would highly recommend this book to anyone else...
