Kat: I really like the transparency Kinda demonstrated in this book. I would recommend this reading to women of color and all other who want real change in how we interact and are seen as women of color.

Gary Wayne Lowery Jr.: 10/10… would recommend for any person of color! Insightful, impactful, and filled with current/nostalgic pop culture references to make a point!

SamSam: I absolutely loved this book! And to the women complaining about it being only for black women seriously need to get over themselves. But this book really did help me in ways that allowed me to stand out and have my work be recognized by those in corporate!! I was the highest performer at my start up company and I was even going to get a bonus for all the work I put in! However I ended up leaving due to a bunch of jealous and insecure broads provoking me and brining me out of character. I’m not a perfect victim but some people are really skilled at bringing out the worst in others. With that being said I just wish that there was chapter solely based on conflic resolution especially when the conflict is coming from YOUR OWN BLACK PEOPLE

scbull: Do you have that friend that you can't wait to have a drink or lunch with? That friend who is close enough in age to you that you can connect but has lived more life than you that they have seen some stuff? That friend who is wicked funny, drops more pop culture than People or has more stories than the New York Times?
That friend that can wrap all of that into amazing advice, insight, critical feedback, and love?
I felt like I was with that friend from page one of Minda Harts' book The Memo: What Women of Color Need to Know to Secure a Seat at the Table. This book is a must-read for anyone who feels that they are being held back or overlooked in their career. Ms. Harts provides actionable insight that you can use to get yourself in the right headspace and the right workspace to succeed.
And for those of us that lead young people, women, people of color, and others from underrepresented groups, this book will be the wake-up call that you need to be the "Success Partner" that those around you deserve and that you are required to be.
My favorite chapter is Let's Werk which provides great resources, examples, and guidance on how an individual can put Ms....

RiRiWoo: Highly recommend!!!! for black women who are experienced in the corporate game already or for those who want to “lean in” and better understand the corporate culture from someone who is just like you!
Her writing style is matter of fact and the book is filled with anecdotes from her own journey to securing her “seat”. You will definitely find value and practical information in every chapter.

AngieD: A must read for black aspiring professional women! It will show you unapologetically that you aren’t crazy, the things you see are real. For so others, I would highly recommend also to understand the complexities of intersectionallity and better understand the challenges of others, not just black women. It gets “real”, so if you are ready to for comprehensive understanding of the aforementioned group, take a read

Stella: Minda provides an acute assessment of the workplace for Black and Brown women which particlarly resonated with me. For all of us who have been over performing whilst being on constant alert, Minda outlines a roadmap to reframe and focus our talent. I also appreciated that the book is inclusive and addresses all women

Stephanie Redivo: As a white woman I was very curious to read and learn about experiences for women of colour. Thank you Minda for taking the time to write this and through this book you have opened doors for many. Her chapter on Say my name, say my name is amazing and she lists out badass women to get to know and follow. This is a must read for all races and genders.

Susan Whitehead Terrell: I bought this book and was so excited to read it. As a biracial female, WOC, c-level executive in biotech I have experienced firsthand what it’s like to be the only or in the minority in the corporate setting. While I think some of the authors points are valid, how she repeatedly referred to white women as Becky’s I found extremely offensive and was unable to finish reading this book. L This just felt like reverse racism, the language was devisive, and certainly not inclusive nor did it support allyship in her chosen language. Her view stereotypes people into categories be considering everyone’s individualism. Therefore I do not recommend this book to those young WOC that I mentor.
