Terrible!

This generic temperature probe DID NOT FIT WELL in my 1998 Weber Platinum Series II grill. It was so loose, that it would fall out of its holder on the grill hood if the hood was closed with any force or the probe face touched "with a feather" (see picture where the face of the probe is askew in its holder after the slightest touch). I subsequently purchased a "Weber" branded temperature probe ($9 more than the generic probe) which fit snugly in the grill hood. The generic probe is being returned.

NOTE: The generic and the "Weber" branded probe do not come with any clips or fasteners ... and this is correct and by design. The grill hood has a holder in which the probe should fit snugly, which the "Weber" branded probe does and the generic probe DOES NOT. Gregory J. Miller: I thought there was something wrong with my 20-year-old Weber grill because it wasn't getting hot anymore. It turns out the problem was with the thermometer, not the grill. This replacement thermometer is an exact fit for the old one, and it works great.

Collins: This worked and I was able to adapt it to my Weber big the face size and length of the temp shaft was ok but the holding end to the bbq was different I did adapt it with little effort. Some other manufacturers come with a tightening collar on the inside This one should have a adapter like this
