Kindle Customer: I bought this to weigh aquarium chemicals and so far so good. First, be aware that this is a sub-20 dollar scale. This isn't a precision lab quality instrument. If you need that kind of accuracy and performance, pay for it. The things I've noticed, that I can live with:
- After not too much use, the batteries that came with it died. I mean totally dead. I suspect there is a bit of current drain somewhere in the electronics. I didn't want to test this theory so I've just started pulling the batteries out.
- There is a bit of lag between adding weight and the display updating. Not really long, but a bit annoying. I'm only measuring dry ingredients so it is easy to pause and wait. For wet ingredients, maybe more difficult.
- Although the resolution of this scale is .01 grams, I don't think it is terribly accurate at that level. I've added small amounts of ingredients and the reading doesn't change. Again, this is a sub-20 dollar scale. I shouldn't expect that.
- The metal plate on the scale is not corrosion resistant at all. With very few uses, I have a couple of rust spots that have started to form. However, I'm also measuring aquarium chemicals and I suspect that they...
