Chelsea B.: This scale works just as intended and is sleek enough I don’t mind leaving it out on my counter. It’s easy to wipe clean/disinfect. My only qualm and reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that the battery died quickly. Some things I’ve done to help alleviate that is holding down the zero button after each use to turn the scale off, as I’ve noticed it does stay on for a very long time after each use and I’ve been getting everything I plan to weigh ready before I turn the scale on. But definitely stock up on triple A batteries if you weight all of your food every day, you’ll need them!

The Creative SeedThe Creative Seed: This little scale does the job of being a descent instrument to have in the kitchen for weighing ingredients for cooking. It is not meant to be accurate or have any useful features other than weighing small items or amounts in containers. It's made of plastic, so you can't put hot pots from the stove or containers that were in the oven on top of it. I'm sure it would melt. The top is plastic, not metal, and does scratch easily and collects fingerprints immediately after removing the protective plastic coating. You may leave this on it, if you like the color blue.

On the positive side, it is light, thin, and looks attractive. It's small enough to fit in a drawer or stick vertically on the side of a cabinet. It could even serve as a display stand for a flower or decorative piece in your kitchen.

However, it fails for several reasons that would make me want to send it back.

First, the display is built into the top, so it gets covered by plates or large containers that you would place on top of it. Even if you look underneath the item, you cannot accurately read the display. That 9" styrofoam plate that you see in the first and second pictures weighs 6 grams, not...

BettyBetty: I really like this scale! When I first bought a scale (not this one) to log my calories, I didn’t think it really mattered what I chose, since all scales just weigh things. It wasn’t until I got this one that I realized what a difference the design actually makes. This scale is made of metal and sleek on top, so it makes wiping down after weighing sauces and powders very easy. It’s also digital with a backlit display, so it’s easy to read if you’re weighing food on a larger plate and have to peek underneath the plate to log the weight (my old scale display wasn’t backlit). Also, unlike my previous scale, this one has units in pounds as well as kilograms (along with grams and ounces), which is an added bonus for me, since I live in the US but travel a lot (pre-pandemic); I sometimes buy foods from overseas that doesn’t have imperial units in the nutrition info. Overall, I think this is a great buy if you’re looking for a versatile scale, definitely worth getting.
