tklimek: I used this to charge my Tesla while camping. It fit my Tesla charger perfectly. I parked my car at the RV hookup. The first time I plugged in, I changed the amps to 24 amp and it remembered that there after. It charged at a rate of around 10 miles an hour.

Louis Rossmann: Works, charges, does something that you can't have done with tesla's plugs since they don't sell this adapter. It works.

super8alberta: This is a very well built product. Good value for dollar. Wish the cord with the male end was a tad longer though.

John: This is specifically for use for EV charging. It is extremely well made, being a solid cast piece. It works perfectly for my charger and let's me use RV plugs for way faster charging.

Joshua S.Joshua S.: Have to prop the Tesla power supply up so the adapter stays plugged in. Also came with a disclaimer not to power with a full 30 Amps, so it’s only slightly better than a wall outlet.

i hwang: I ordered this for use between two clothes dryers. I needed to switch between the two of them. Works great! I am sure it would work just as well with EVs or other appliances needing this type of voltage.

JRabbit:
Took a long road trip in the Tesla and wanted to make sure I could charge up at some of our RV-friendly overnight stopovers and also as an emergency source of power in case I needed to use RV parks and campgrounds that didn't have EV-specific plugs. It was strictly for backup/overnight charging, because it's relatively slow charging this way.
This thing worked like a champ. I just plugged the normal NMEA 14-50 plug with the Tesla cable into one end and then plugged the other end into the RV plug. The circuit breakers on the RV plugs are 30A, but this adapter comes with a warning not to draw more than 24A (to account for a 20% downgrade). On the Tesla, I had to manually set the charge down to 24A to make that happen, which just took a few taps of the charging screen (it wasn't automatically detected). Once that was done, it would continually and reliably charge at 24A.

After using an out-of-the box 30 amp RV adapter, which did not work, this Tesla adapter did work. It must have something to do with the neutral leg wire connection.
While the price seems steep, a Tesla-specifically-made adapter like this one is required for EV charging to work properly. I recommend that every Tesla making road trips carry one of these adapters along with a 50 amp adapter and/or cable. While there are 10s of thousands of Tesla Super Chargers out there, there are 100s of thousands of RV pedestals at RV parks in out-of-the-way places.
I recently made a 6,000 mile solo cross-county road trip and had no problem finding plenty of Tesla Superchargers along the way. I had the peace of mind knowing that I could use any number of other types of type 2 charging if I needed it, which it turned out, I didn't need it. :-).
ATTENTION: You must set the charging amps to 24 or less in the car's charging screen. Otherwise, this "30 amp adapter" will overheat, melt, and fail.
NOTE: It seems that after I made the 24 amp setting and ,successfully charged the car at a relative's home, the next time I used this adapter my 2019 Tesla...

Calvin dmello: Make sure you set your amps to 24, but I have been using this for about two months now with no issues.
