SophiaJulia: What a great story! I loved seeing how close and accepting of one another this family is! It is a good lesson to follow your heart and do what you think is best, no matter what the outcome may be. Thankfully this story did have a happy ending, which is wonderful!

Victoria Carlucci: This book was amazing! Stories like Peg's should not go untold. It was a wonderful lesson on how important it is to take chances and do what's best for our family. Mary returning years later and showing the appreciation for the life Peg gave her was a beautiful ending to their story. There are times in our lives where we have to do what is best for ourselves and others.

Sally Ponchak: I loved this book. It is so heartfelt. I laughed, I cried, but most of all I came away so impressed by this amazing woman and her strength, determination and love for her family. What she lived through and how she survived it all is truly a story of grit! The fact that it is a true story makes it all the more amazing. Kudos for a wonderful book. I highly recommend it.

MPS: The book is a very honest memoir of difficult times in Ireland during the 1950’s and subsequent life in America. Sometimes it is hard to follow but after a couple of chapters, I realized the author’s intent was the story and not a perfect timeline. It’s a great story for all, but especially adoptees and parents who gave adopted. I very much enjoyed the story and read it in 2 four hours increments.

Carol H: This is a story of love winning over shame and guilt. Shame brought on by the townspeople and even the local church goers. But the love of family, her future husband and children, and eventually her baby, Mary, is the heart warming story that is told. Peg didn't give up on her faith even after she was treated cruelly by the people of the church. She kept her faith and could finally feel free of her shame in the loving and thankful arms of her Mary and all the details that became more clear to her after their meeting.
