Kindle Reader: The illustrations had a watercolor quality combined with the artsy style of the Golden Age. Some of the text was a little small to read, but the images vividly expressed the story and what was going on.
The beginning was a little dull and you couldn’t really tell what was going on, but the art was so vibrant and exciting.
“Nothing can hurt this ship—not even a mummy’s curse.”
Little George was trying to take a peek at the mummy when the ship struck the ice berg. Oh no! Now the ship was sinking. When he gets separated from his aunt sailing away on a lifeboat, George was on his own.
A nice illustration of harrowing event!

JS: My 8-year-old son and I read this today. He stayed engaged the entire time and could have read it independently. I liked the way the author made the characters dimensional while keeping the action moving. Excited to try another in the series.
