Ryan M.: I rarely write reviews for Amazon purchases, but I felt compelled to write this for other dads to be like me. I bought this book as it had so many positive reviews, but it was incredibly disappointing. This book is geared towards and immature man child type of guy who does not understand the basics of being a supportive partner.

Although it contains some information helpful to first-time dads, it was a painful and a bit sexist read. As someone who considers themselves a good partner/husband this book offered me nothing that I didn’t already feel was basic common sense. Will be searching for another book with a more modern and informative approach to pregnancy and child birth.

Robert Wittenzellner: It is clear the author of this was way less mature than my husband when he found out his wife was pregnant. Overall, it gives good information and is VERY helpful to explain to a male partner exactly what is happening with the pregnancy. It breaks it down by week and really prepared my husband for certain things and explained them in a way I couldn't. For instance, when I tried on some jeans and couldn't button them comfortably and broke down crying, my husband had read about this time in the pregnancy it was to be expected. He was able to say "this is completely normal" and help me to find leggings and something comfortable to wear. Before this book, he would have just been like - YOU'RE GROWING A HUMAN WHAT DO YOU EXPECT? All in all, that experience made it worth it.

He is also able to read and know what is coming so there aren't too many surprises I can throw at him these days because he is prepared for it. I would recommend as a simple education and guidance tool for the SO

Anthony: I went through the 1 star reviews and I sincerely beg to differ!

This book was super-helpful and didn’t have any “bro” language in it that distinctly shows up. I was actually looking for an informative book that wasn’t condescending or had any of that “bro talk” in it. Does it frame it toward a general male persoective? Yes, that’s the point of the book. Light humor? Yes because a little bit of humor helps to take the edge off of a very serious and monumental transition that first time dads often stress over. But it was in no way condescending like some readers reported (in my opinion at least).

I would read the baby stats and mom stats to my wife, and it was such a bonding experience that we looked forward to each week. The book framed it in such a way that made things much more manageable and as a result lowered the anxiety that comes with many first time dads.

If you’re a first time father to be, I highly recommend the book. It’s enjoyable, informative and I love some the suggestions it gives to be loving and supportive throughout the journey.

Joe: The book has been awesome to keep me on track as my role as a soon to be dad. I often find my wife asking for the advice of this book over the traditional pregnancy books. It might not have all the details but it hits on all the big things you should be aware of or doing with a bit of humor tied in. I would recommend this to any first time dad.

Breno Mazieiro: It's a very good book I would recommend:
Positives:
- There are list of things you should not forget per stages. That's what I liked most.
- It's spoken by heart by a father. Respect man.
- there is a very good indication of things and it's very well organized.

Negatives:
- the author it's a little simp, so expect to ignore some parts.
- there are not much about things that you should know scientifically speaking. Good explanations about the exams and what it means for example.
- it's more a book father to father than good explanations with good facts and knowledge.
- it's an American author, so expect explanations about the not so good American health system.

Rachel: Like other reviewers have said it’s a little bro focused however we found the humor in it. My husbands not into fishing or football so we found the comments in this book silly and took it with a grain of salt. We didn’t love some of the wording like “make sure you remind her to eat healthy”. We felt it would have been better worded by taking some initiative and recommending some involvement like looking up a healthy delicious meal and making dinner but we might be nit picking. Overall the book has been interesting though and he has learned a lot and has mentioned “did you know….” Or when I mention something he’s already aware of it which has made both of us feel involved and on the same page
