At times I couldn't bare to read more of the pain coming from each and every written word. But I picked it up further down the page. I know people go through this kind of tragedy but I was never wrenched apart this deeply. Watching this kind of shattering grief reaches for empathy and compassion.

AzzaBael: I will be recommending this book to everyone. I read it in less than 24 hours. When I wasn’t reading it, I was thinking about it. Caroline the author has a brilliant gift in writing. My emotions were a rollercoaster throughout the book. I deeply felt for the characters and all they went through from the start of the story. Right now thinking of Harry, Sarah and JP’s 9 year old son, has me in tears all over again. This is definitely on my read again list.

Dawn.: In my worst nightmare I can’t imagine a scenario like this, but it was written with such grace and “humanness” that it was relatable. Strongly advise for people dealing with these same issues.

Liana Landsman: What an amazing look at what it would be like to lose a child...every parent's biggest fear. I think the author captured the raw pain and anguish in a way that made me weep with them. Although no one can truly understand that kind of loss unless you have been through it, this book has given us insight into what grief can be.

susannah: I suppose that those who have never heard of DIPG would read this book as merely a story about a damaged marriage and a kid with a brain tumor. My family lost a girl to DIPG almost three years ago. She was diagnosed at 16 and passed at 18. I remember her initial symptoms, the "go home and make memories," the progression of her illness and the terror of her parents, looking everywhere in the world for some way, something to do for her. They tried, but in the end, zero survival rate, just like every one of the friends she made on that journey. This is in the US, and it is kind of unbelievable that in this day and age, with all the medical advances, they still can do nothing at all, and the kids continue to die. Thank you for spreading awareness of this monstrous disease.

GRN: Thanks to Ms. Caroline Finnerty for writing such a beautiful story. I couldn't stop, once I started reading, it is heart wrenching. I have never cried so much reading a book. From start to end it is beautiful. We feel the pain of each of the characters.
