Rachel Kolka: Bought this as a gift for someone who is a wrestling and comics fan. They were very happy with it and seemed pleased with all the info it goes over. Could have been packaged better, it was sent in an envelope and a corner got bent, but that is Amazon's fault, not the writter's.

Filipe: The Comic Book Story of Professional Wrestling covers just about every topic you would ever want to know about professional wrestling. It covers the sport’s questionable beginnings in American carnivals to is big marquee fight feels of the early 1900s to the territory system of the 1930s-70s to the rise of national promotions such as WWF and WCW in the 1980: to the Monday Night Wars of the 1990s to today’s indie wrestling resurgence. It also covers how wrestling differs in other countries such as Mexico, Japan, and England.

yaquelin romeroyaquelin romero: The item came In quick! Although this book is a present a little bummed that it didn’t have a wrapper around it to protect it from getting damaged. Other than that everything seems fine.

Danny Borja: My kid loves this comic! Explains the history of wrestling! From way in the past, to Mexican Luchadors like El Santo and Blue Demon to when it blew up and became a worldwide phenomenon thanks to Hulk Hogan then Bret The Hitmen Hart, Stone Cold, The Rock etc. He loves luchadors like Rey Mysterio and Eddie Guerrero so he really enjoys it

Jaime Quenzler: Definitely an excellent book but if you're interested in getting into wrestling and it's history I would recommend this as only a starting point as it misses and dosent talk about some figures in wrestling history and breifly goes over major parts of wrestling history aswell. Also this book has become mildly dated and misses peaices of recent wrestling history and news. Again this is a great starting point. Also people who already know the history of wrestling may find this book fun as a read and to look at the art and may even learn about something they didn't know about like I did with the early days of wrestling that are talked about in this book. And for comic fans this book dose have good art and I think it's a decent example of historical comics it is lacking in some aspects in particular the artist clearly reused assets multiple times throughout the book like re using the same picture of a wrestler over and over again. In the end I think that this comic is pretty good for starting out wrestling fans, just good for wrestling fans who are already familiar with the history and for comic fans a fun read but could prove to be irritating or boaring. In total I give it 4 stars

randomweirdo: I learned quite a bit about the early carnie days of wrestling from this. I do wish it focused just a little bit more on the Monday Night Wars era though, considering its significance. Still, I would say its pretty thorough and was entertaining throughout.
My only real nitpicks are that the author made one factual error that I noticed.
On page 157 when discussing the Chris Benoit murders, the author stated "But while Benoit was on synthetic testosterone at the time (not uncommon for those who had previously taken steroids, as Benoit had)... there were no drugs in his system that could explain his actions."
The issue with this is that anabolic steroids ARE synthetic testosterone, which seemed to confuse the author. Same thing with TRT (testosterone replacement therapy) or HRT (hormone replacement therapy) when some MMA fighter gets popped and people discuss it. HRT and TRT are the (commercially friendly) names of the treatment, NOT the drug theyre actually using to treat you with (steroids). Again, the only 'synthetic testosterone' to exist are various formulations of anabolic steroids. You dont go to the doctor and ask for some 'synthetic testosterone' or...

OverCaffeinated: Even if you're not a fan of professional wrestling, I recommend reading this book. It blends education and entertainment so evenly you never want to set it down, I finished it in 3 days!. I've been a wrestling fan for most of my life but I learned more from this book about wrestling than I did from the internet in the last four years. There's so much character in the art you can stare at any individual panel for minutes at a time, it has such an animated feel I would love for this to be a cartoon one day.
