mama_of_2: Ordered this when our son told us he wanted to start a hive on our property. We knew nothing about keeping bees, so what better place to start than Beekeeping for Dummies! After much searching, we found this book came highly recommended by many beekeepers. My husband has had his nose stuck in this book for many hours. It has been extremely useful and informative. Definitely recommend it for "newbees".

Krimes: Read it cover to cover and felt really prepared for the hobby. Jumped right into beekeeping and all my hives were great this year, no swarming, no issues, knew what I was looking at.

Gary: Very in depth and informative. Would not suggest it for my first book to read. A bit wordy and overwhelming for a beginner’s book. Got more out of it when a read a few basic books first.

Amazon Customer: I live in the UK. Have joined a local beekeeping association. Now have a beehive in the garden, which is managed by a member of the local beekeeping group. It is fascinating to learn by seeing how the hive is managed, observing the bees and learning from the beekeeper about the bees and management. I purchased Beekeeping for Dummies prior to joining the group and having a hive sited in the garden. The book is informative. However, it seems there is a variety of ways in which beekeepers manage their hives. It would have been better for me to have purchased a book from a beekeeper who was writing from a stance of living in the UK. Nonetheless, it is apparent when reading the book that the author is well versed in the subject. The book is an interesting read.
