Dana Stolk: I bought these pads based on the reviews that they were not sharp. I pulled these pads out of the package and it nearly pierced my skin...just from lightly touching it. I could only imagine what would have happened if my 50-pound dog had jumped on top of them. This will surely hurt your pet.

N.M.N.M.: So I have an indoor cat with average confidence. Sometimes she is bold and sometimes she is timid. She has extremely mild wobbly cat syndrome, so she is less graceful and less likely to jump over things unless she is very confident she can do it in the moment. My goal was to keep her away from houseplants that are toxic to her. I will say, she hasn't been really driven to them in general, but by what I have read the more you have, the more likely they are to try and eat them at some point, so I really wanted to create deterrents and barriers for my plants, however, I cannot easily do that with some larger plants, so I was looking to try these.

Here are my observations with using this product. 1) my cat is curious, so she walked on these immediately when they were put down. 2) you could tell she was unhappy with the experience of walking on them, but she has tried it out several times because she is so curious about these 3) Since she doesn't like the feeling of walking on these, she has been avoiding them. BDubb: I received the product on time and it was much cheaper than I expected. What I thought I was getting was something that was closer to a mat and stay outdoors and would not need to be taped or have weight on it to keep it in place. The items are basically the cheap plastic that you would find inside of packaging of a toy from China. I think that it will be effective for stopping the cats from peeing against my window but I think I will have to find a more durable option long-term. I can’t see it lasting very long and had I known it was so flimsy I would’ve tried something else first.

Hellacious HelenaHellacious Helena: The media could not be loaded.  No more filthy animals sliming up my dining chairs or stealing bones off of the counter. Yes! It’s also funny hen it catches the kids walking around without flip flops (house rule). The spikes bend when stepped on and will not puncture skin but can hurt a little before crushing flat. Also, the sound of the plastic getting crushed shocks all of us when we aren’t expecting it. I no longer need to use baby gates that damage walls or get chewed on. This is a great barrier that easily stepped over by people but keeps my beasts at bay.

Lin C.: I purchased these to discourage the neighborhood cats from sleeping and peeing on my patio furniture. I think this may have startled at least one cat from settling in last night in his regular spot. If they work I will get more. These are a very thin plastic. Reminds me of the thin plastic containers that take-out food comes in. I thought they would be thicker. That said, I wouldn't want to walk on them barefoot although I think they would squish under a human's weight. They are light-weight so need to be anchored. I placed them under some chicken wire - which the cats don't seem to be bothered by? - to hold them on my patio furniture. They came with some red tape tabs that you can use to connect them to one another. You could probably also use an anchor pin of some type to keep them in place on the ground. I do live in the very warm Desert Southwest and would expect these to become brittle if left outside over time. Overall, I'm happy with my purchase. I wouldn't want to pay more for them, but if they discourage unwanted animals from settling on my furniture and lower my level of aggravation, they are worth it.
