Nicole WrightNicole Wright: My daughter hurt her finger messing around. The next morning it hurt her to move it. We bought her these and they have helped to keep her finger stabilized and it's on the way to healing. Just as good quality as the others with a much cheaper price tag!

Evi: Gets the job done,
4 stars for the velcro straps.
They have the little plastic loops that grip on the straps all the way around. And they pick up any little piece of lint or small debris.
And also grip on to any fabric like your jacket sleeves or your shirt.

Evanlea's Bookshelf: Basically, I received what I expected. My husband needed them for his pinky. The metal with the cushion was the most comfortable. I think the other option would have worked better if it had padding inside. They are holding up well and he is happy with the purchase.

cconline: Bien mieux que les attelles "grenouille" ou les simples plaquettes d'aluminium que l'on vous pose à l’hôpital ou en pharmacie !

KarenKaren: I managed to get my fingers caught up in my dogs lead when she lunged to get to my daughter...
Having worked in a fracture clinic as a nurse for 10 years I knew I had done something to my middle finger by the way it swelled up & bruised. I figured I'd strained the ligaments & so didn't go to A&E & just buddy strapped it to my ring finger, but I soon realised that it was my DIP joint {Distal {furthest away} InterPhalangeal joint {joint in between the bones of the finger}} I had damaged & that buddy strapping wasn't going to help it because that doesn't actually provide any support to the DIP joint... The pictures with the arrows point to areas of tenderness. So I knew I needed a mallet splint to rest my DIP joint & allow it to heal ~ I also spoke to an orthopaedic consultant friend & he looked at my finger & reckons that the tendon has pulled off a piece of bone {see picture of the lump on my finger ~ this is where the piece of bone has been pulled off & bony healing is taking place}. I will need to immobilise my DIP joint for 4 weeks to allow it to heal.
The good thing about a splint like this for an injury to the distal part of...

CambridgeMACambridgeMA: These are working very well. The plastic ones are much more ergonomic than the one my orthopedic surgeon gave me at the office. Comparing both size #4, these are slimmer and the plastic has a smooth finish so they don't scratch your finger at the second joint when flexing the finger. People are complaining about the velcro, I took the velcro off, it comes off very easily (including the little adhesive part that attaches to the plastic) and I'm using surgical tape to keep the splint on the finger as the doctor showed me. You have to split the surgical tape in half and use the two thin halves of the tape you split to secure where your nail is (By the way, when inserting the splint, the doctor lifted my finger by the fingernail using his fingernail to prevent my finger from bending, since I have mallet finger, I thought that was ingenious!) and the other half of the tape toward the second finger joint but keeping the joint free. According to the doctor you want to have that joint free to be able to flex. This is working wonderfully and the splint stays as long as I want.
The aluminum one, I'm using whenever I have to take the plastic one off to wash. It's good but a bit bulkier. I...
