I have 2 dogs and they were puppies when I bought these. We muzzle trained them as puppies so now if we go to the vet or strangers come over they don't see the muzzle as a punishment.
They have both used them and have gone up a size, so having several sizes to choose from we got the right fit and able to advance to next level.

Dani: This works well to prevent barking and full biting mobility. My dog was still able to eat and drink with this on. The buckle can slip if the muzzle you try is too small so keep that in mind. Overall works well for how cheap it was.

Erin Brown: I love that this comes with various sizes and they should be able to fit most dogs. My only complaint is that the straps may be too short.
I use these while grooming dogs(if needed), and I discovered that the muzzle I needed yesterday was the perfect size for his mouth, but the straps were too short to fit his head. I had to go a size up, which left enough room for him to still be able to nip at me.
I don't see this being an issue with most dogs, but for those who are oddly shaped with smaller muzzles, it could be a reoccurring problem.

Walter Combs: It took me a long time to use one of these muzzles. I foster a lot of dogs throughout the year and one of my residents had some very long nails but to try and clip them resulted in snaps and bites. She is a Chihuahua mix, so its painful to get bit by her but not life threatening. I pulled out the small Number 1 Muzzle and got her suited up in it. Nail clipping was finally complete. No injury to me :-) I havent had cause to use any of the larger type... but if they perform like this one did, Im golden. and once I was done, I ran the muzzle under some water to get her slobber off it and clipped it to the fence to dry in the sun :-)
