Carol Anders: We purchased this Cargo rack to attach to our vehicle to allow extra storage for our recent
trip as we had two handicap adults with us and we were able to carry their portable walkers, transport cart and two foldout camping chairs. It was worth the cost and we look forward to using it many many times on our future trips.

James: The rack is sturdy, the carrier bag is water tight and is robust enough to not be easy to damage. I wouldn't mind it if the bag had semi-ridged walls just to make it easier to load, but that's a nit pick. All in all I am happy I got it, and would get another if this one ever gets destroyed or lost.

Curtis A. Laubacher: Rack feels sturdy and did great on a 12 hour trip for hauling extra luggage. No noticeable MPG loss which is great and this is big enough to hold a lot. Not sure how it will hold up over time.

Most of the extras are nice but the hitch lock is poor and mine arrived broken. Luckily I already had a better quality working lock.

Seeing some spot rust in rub areas already but not too worried since I'll just hit it with some rustolem.

Decent rack overall with some minor drawbacks

J-Pro: The Positives: This product seems to be well-made. I recently purchased this for a 7 hour trip. I was able to fit a lot more than i expected in the cargo carrier. We also drove through some heavy rain and everything in the carrier remained bone dry. It is also convenient to be able to flip the hitch up when not in use.

The Negative: When assembling the carrier 3 of the 4 bolt holes were machine correctly and the bolts went in easily. One of the holes was off and i had to hammer the bolt through. Also when folding the hitch up the holes do not match up perfectly so its a bit of a pain to get the locking pin in. If the product was machined a bit more precisely I would have given the product 5 stars.

M. Carpenter: I ordered this Mockins hitch mount cargo carrier because I was hauling a group of Scouts to camp for a week and I knew I needed extra cargo capacity. It arrived packed heavy and tight in surprisingly small box. When I unpacked everything I was immediately impressed by how heavy duty all the hardware was. Large metal parts were protected from rubbing against each other. The instructions were clear and simple. Once I put it together it was a solid major unit. All the options for strapping and tying down were excellent, they seem to have thought of everything. The ability to flip it up when empty was useful. It made the trip with no rattling - the hitch stabilizer worked great. I am sure I will be using this bad boy forever.

Milk drinker: Overall this looks well made but they have a few issues with packaging and design.
First there was no instruction manual included, however it didn’t take much to figure out how to assemble it, just very annoying.
Second the packaging is very sloppy with the bolts just rattling around inside the shipping container like someone just threw them in there. The retaining clip for the pin that locks the carrier into the upright and flat positions was missing. I had to go to my local hardware store to purchase one. Again not a big deal but annoying.
Finally the holes for the positioning pin only lined up for one or the other, not both so I had to ream the hole out in order to correct that. All fixable but not something you would expect that you would have to do.
I haven’t used it yet but hopefully my long term experience is better than the first impression.

TheLamma: I’m very happy with this kit! Despite coming from the USA, it came quickly and has everything I needed. I think I could have gotten everything cheaper if I pieced them out separately, but I doubt by much and it works have been a hassle. I also went with this over the soft-shell kits you can get for the roof, as it is more of a long term option and easier to manage (and takes more weight).

The rack itself is very high quality, with a rust-proof coating that I have no concerns about flaking (except where it rubs on the hitch, but that is unavoidable). Since it rises a little bit, this keeps it away from the exhaust (on my Ford Flex, at least), and the tail lights are still visible. Being able to raise it when not in use is a great bonus, though I usually take it off altogether.

It comes with every accessory needed, assuming you have a 2” hitch, including a hitch stabilizer, hitch pin, and two types of straps. The bag is very high quality, and I have absolutely no concerns about water getting in - it is as thick as an inflatable kayak, and has both zipper and Velcro for protection.

Some people say you need a frame to be added to these. That is not an issue if...
