The big numbers are helping him learn the concept of time. He now gets excited when he hears the buzzer because he knows it's time to go do something else. It comes with 2 big magnets in the back which made it convenient to hang on the fridge. The only downfall is having to wind it to 55 and then back to the desired time in order for the buzzer to work, but that is manageable.

sailcloth buyer: I bought this thinking I was taking a chance based on other reviews. But I think people just didn't read/understand the simple instructions provided - or just didn't quite make the logical leap that they are winding the clock and buzzer as they set it.
If you want 5 minutes of countdown time, then you gotta spin that guy "65" minutes, kinda. This is because you're winding the spring to power the movement to countdown and to zap the buzzer at the end.
The instructions are deviously simple for those used to working with electronic tech - just follow the instructions and it'll be plenty loud and accurate.
The magnet is very sturdy against something like a fridge - which I'm extremely grateful for, hah. Great for reasons you need a big timer somewhere.

Kelsey Williams: Easy to use and a nice big visual for my ASD kiddo. The ticking is so loud though that it can be bothersome to those sensitive to noise. Just have to remember to turn the timer knob past 55 before setting it for the bell to ring. The volume of the ticking sound is my only real complaint.

R.A. Lee: I really like having this in the kitchen for the kids when they're doing homework or when we are going to leave somewhere. It really seems to help them to have this visual representation of how much time they have. The only drawback is that it ticks very loud. If it were in a classroom full of students, it would probably not be noticeable, but it's really loud in a house! :)

Wen: Me encanta y es muy útil para motivar visualmente a los niños sobre el tiempo que tienen para hacer sus actividades. Es de buen tamaño y suena bastante bien. Lo recomiendo ampliamente

Ganchi: Just 1 star taken off because my 5yo was able to accidentally break it and the seller's solution was a discount off a replacement. I returned it to Amazon instead, even though this ought to be the kind of fix that should be user-reparable...
Anyway, when you twist it to past 55 minutes before setting it (as instructed) make sure you don't accidentally twist it past 60 minutes, or it can get stuck that way and become completely useless.
Other than that! It's quite big. The magnet is good and strong and it has fold out feet. It's been great for teaching my preschoolers the concept of time. I set it for how long we have before we have to leave the house, and they cooperate so much better when they can see time ticking away and understand better what I mean by "it's almost time to go"

Amazon Customer: This is a great invention for kids and adults, neurodivergent and neurotypical. However it has a ticking sound which my partner and kids don’t like and therefore we don’t use it. Otherwise it’s a great visual to improve focus / to let them know when to come out the bath etc

Heather: I was looking for a visual timer to help my students pace themselves while taking a test. I like almost all of the features of the clock, BUT the ticking sound it makes is just too loud. I had a student raise his hand and ask if I would turn it off because it sounded like a "ticking time bomb." I polled the class, and other students agreed that it was too loud.
