Chad: Very happy with this item cut throw 3inc with ease on the side of my home for a range hood. Very well made of strong metal wroth the money. The only this I can suggest is use a drill that has a side handle so if the holesaw bits it won't sprain or worse break your wrist.

Jabrone: Bought this to cut cornhole board holes in 3/4 oak plywood. It worked for sure but holy hell you better hang on for dear life and have your medical and life insurance paid up! I strapped this bad boy on my Makita hammer drill and this thing had enough torque to just about take my arm off. It jammed up for a split second spun out of my hand like a tornado, the cord got wrapped around the trigger locking it on resulting in this 6 inch wheel of violence an death jumping around at my feet. Its a good thing I have cat like reflexes or I would be browsing Amazon for a prosthesis tonight.

Jaxdoc: In fairness I marked longevity as 3 stars because how would I know since I just bought this thing?! Anyway, I bought this large hole saw because I bought a bunch of Ring Floodlight Cams and had to cut larger holes into the patio rafters and fascia boards where the old lights were but had smaller bases for each fixture. The saw deserves a full 5 stars even though I ended up wrestling with it a bit. Some holes had to be drilled on pieces of wood that were not fully solid and only needed a half or 3/4 hole because the electric connection was partially exposed already. Where holes were full the saw was really easy and cut wood fast. On the half holes it was hard because I had no pilot drill hole to help stabilize. Very difficult butI got it done mostly because the saw was great and I was persistent. It handled the 3/4 cutout almost as easily as a full cutout with minimal struggle. Overall it’s a very nice piece of equipment and I made it work harder with some odd cuts, yet it did the job quickly and efficiently.

Pat TraynorPat Traynor: When I first purchased this, I tried it with my 20v cordless DeWalt. Backwards didn't really work for me and I found that if I babied it, forwards was the best way. But boy, my drill got awfully hot. So I purchased an inexpensive Skil corded drill with a side-assist handle. This worked a LOT better, and I found that the "backwards first" method worked quite well.

A few months back, I bought the GoSports 6" hole saw to make my first cornhole boards. It was terrible. It took forEVER to cut through one 3/4 piece of plywood - I'd say probably 10 minutes. I got halfway through the second piece and finally gave up. The blade, which was originally scary sharp was now very dull. I used a jigsaw for the rest.

I'm using 1/2" plywood now, clamped two pieces together and cut through the full 1 inch in one take. The Dewalt mandrel shank turned out to be too big for my old corded drill. (And look who has a birthday coming up!) So I used my cordless. It seemed like it was overtaxing it some and it was heating up a good deal so I babied the cut. Nonetheless, it got through the entire two pieces of plywood in about 20 seconds.

Also... Final hole was 6" wide, dead...

Jac1717Jac1717: I was looking for a hole saw for cornhole boards and was skeptical, thought about just going with the more expensive Dewalt but just couldn't justify not giving this a shot. I also bought the dewalt mandrel for it, fits perfect. I used my 18v Rigid cordless drill, follow the suggestions to start it backward to cut the first few layers of 3/4" birch plywood-i did this on both sides, then made the hole cut. Be CAREFUL when running it backwards it loosens the chuck and I dropped it on the garage floor, of course it bent a little....but the holes came out perfect as you can see in the pic. I cut 8 holes in 3/4" pressboard with a formica top to practice before making the cuts for the cornholes, glad I did. This thing would make 100 cuts easy so don't even worry about it dulling after a few holes it's awesome!

Chris: I only had to make one hole through layers of both sheeting and siding to vent a bath exhaust fan. I was very reluctant to spend the money required to acquire a large diameter hole saw for just one hole, but I did not want to free hand it with a jig saw because it was in a hard to get to area on a second story gable. I only wanted to do this once so I may have over spent for the project to insure I would not have to refine or revisit the cut. I purchased the Spyder 6 inch hole saw on Amazon, picked up an arbor at Lowes, and attached to my half inch drill. This tool was exactly what was needed to do this task correctly and it worked great. Of all the tasks required for my install, cutting the gable hole with this saw proved to be the easiest effort with the best results. My carpentry skills are very limited but this tool made it a piece of cake. After much research and having now used this saw I feel it was a fair value.
