Sethor: I saw a few reviews about the Mg "not working" but rolled the dice and bought anyway. The kit came with the ferro rod/striker and all nicely packaged. I used the magnesium a few times right away - we did some fires in the woods with wet wood that we found on the ground, and ignited the Mg with a ferro rod / striker. It lit right up every time and the fire got started right up. Each box has 6 little ziploc bags of Mg in it, and we used probably 1/4 of a bag each time and that was plenty. Overall this product worked great, and would highly recommend. Not sure why others were having a problem - we brought a lighter just in case it wouldn't light with the spark from a striker but the striker did the job.

Shutter: What a great little camp fire starter kit. Lots of magnesium shavings in the package. It ignites easily with the supplied ferro rod and striker. Make sure you remove the black coating from the ferro rod to properly create sparks for a fire.

Dennis J. Coplin SR: It comes with what you need to start a fire rapidly and will work in almost any weather. The serious outdoors person should always be prepared and this kit is a great start for your bug out bag or backpack. I purchased this for a hunting bag that I carry when out in the woods. Other than finding a place to shelter out of the weather and wather a fire is one of the most important things that you can have. This product is highly recommended

Yahunatan Carl: The bags of magnesium shavings and the tin container arrived quickly and were as advertised, but unfortunately like many others, my order was missing both the Ferro rod and striker. I appreciate that the company was quick to rectify the issue and ship the rest of my order to me, but clearly this is an ongoing issue that should be quickly corrected so that future costumers actually receive the full order they paid for. Overall decent quality for $25 and a good addition to my bug out bag, I just would have liked to receive what I paid for the first time without having to wait an additional 2 weeks.

Jewel: Very happy with this order. Great product, fast shipping. Exactly as pictured and described. The ferro rods work very well and are in the right size that is big enough to produce good result and small enough to be easily packed anywhere. The magnesium are in good quality and packed in 6 bags in the nice tin box. It keeps the kit in my travel bag organized and easy to reach. Great stuff for camping and outdoors. For the price, this is a good deal. I will definitely buy again.
