Tom margarites: I got these to keep handy for a quick light, to find my way around, in case of a power outage. I've already used one of thesse to 'test' it. Worked quite well, enough to see by and find things when the power goes out. pop the membrane inside the stick and shake, the light lasts about as long as it says on the product sheet, and will continue to 'glow' past that point but not bright enough at that point to see much, beyond whats next to the stick. A good product.

Pedro: No se si realmente duren las 8 horas de iluminación, pero 5 horas si. No es una luz muy brillante pero para casos de emergencia son perfectas. Por el precio creo que mejor me iría por las de color verde que duran 12 horas

ed: bright, easy to use, long shelf life, gave each of my friends kids and their friends one while playing in the dark behind the house... kids thought they were great and adults liked them because they knew where the kids were. great to keep in the car for changing a flat.

Michael: I snapped one just to see how bright it was. I wouldn’t be able to read a book with it but I could see where I was walking just fine. After 8 hrs it was still glowing strong and at 24 hrs I was able to still see a slight glow.

polecat987: I bought these hoping to use them as a good all night light source during black outs. I tested one and is good enough, I wish these sticks sellers compared the brightness vs a light bulb or had lumens called out, something to have a reference. These sort of illuminate a 4ft x 4ft x 4ft box all around and further than that it starts to fade, so do not expect this to be blindly bright or capable of lighting up a room, for that you may need more than 1. They do work better than a cheap brand I bought before here on Amazon. They also do last the 8 hours and after that the chemical reaction breaks down and the fluid turns yellow/orangish.

Jonathan: Ive had several types of glow sticks over the years. I bought these white ones thinking they might give off a bit more light than the other colors. I was right and wrong. They do give off a brighter glow but the light doesnt carry far, Its good because the colors you see when using this glowstick are natural. If you used a whole box of the white ones at once they brighten up a 10x10 room but thats using 10 glowsticks. I would recommend using these sticks for (emergencies only) and if you need to read a label or see what your doing right in front of you, Id say no further than 2-3 feet max unless your eyes are well adjusted to the dark. I "wouldnt recommend" going hiking in the woods and uses these to see where your stepping. I used a lumen measuring app on my smart phone to get an idea of how much light I was getting from these sticks. On cracking the light stick I got(1)lumen per square foot & (9)Lux lumens which is the lights max threshold. Thats OMG LOW. A candle is brighter. One hour later I tested the lumens again and they wouldnt even register in the lumens per square foot range and the Lux lumens was down to (4) which isnt even worth mentioning but I did just in case...
