handbaglady: Cannot light these matches with the striker on the tube.

Jordan: Matches light first strike on the provided strike paper. I tried using a small piece of skateboard griptape on the top, but it seemed too abrasive to light the matches.

Matt T: More cheaply made junk from China, The cap threads are loose and very easy to cross thread onto the base portion. The seal is over size and looks likely to fail as well. The striker on the base is very small 20mm x 3mm and the one i received was not attached to the base the glue had failed in the package.

Habitat2050: Matches are functional but the striker plate on the bottom had epoxy all over it and had zero texture to it because of this. What good are non-strike anywhere matches when you don't have a striker plate to strike on.

alchartreux: I bought a bunch of these match storage canisters for my "bug-out" survival kit, not just to store matches, but also, for medicine, tinder, sewing kit stuff, fishing lures, etc. In other words, they are useful for storing more than just matches; indeed, they will keep essential items dry. The canisters are well-constructed, with a screw-top cap and a black rubber "o-ring" that helps to keep water out. There is a very thin and tiny flint strip embedded/glued on to the bottom of the canister as a last-resort striking method, but, the flint is not well-secured and fell off on a couple of my canisters, forcing me to store it inside the canister. Not enough of a big deal for me to take off a star, because 1) I had bought these canisters primarily for their waterproof storage attributes, and, on that score, they perform well; and, 2) any serious survival kit should contain multiple, stand-alone flint firestarters (and, magnesium bars) in it, as well.

For some reason, Amazon.com's price for this item seems to fluctuate between $1 (what I paid for it) and $4.51 (way overpriced). Don't pay more than a buck or a buck-fifty for this. If you find that the price is...

Marc: Here we have a strong bright orange case with o-ring for watertight seal. Inside is a bunch of matches with a striker. These matches work well with this striker. On the underside is a small flint which i was able to get sparks off using a saw blade. I kept the small saw blade in with the matches. With the matches inside the case there was still room for tinder so i stuffed in some cotton wool coated in petrolium jelly. This tinder caught fire easily with the saw and small flint and burnt for ages. I bought another case and have taken out most of the matches and stuffed it with alot of cotton wool coated in petrolium jelly. With this current setup i think i'm good to go with starting fires. So yeah great product made better 5 Stars.

Jiunjr Feng: $1 with waterproof case and 25 matches...... It's the right price, $1, as what store listed; it's the good item for 2 to 3 days camper using, it's has nice care for waterproof, the case has good shape for add duck tape on it for emergency using, and it's right size for putting it into my backpack. For $1, it's totally worth for it. What else you can get better than it?

Ben: You get what you pay for these are waterproof but the matches inside are extremely cheap. But for the price who can complain they're great to have in any emergency kit.
