MrTomRN: Reading history through the lens of fashion (or fashion statements) was eye opening to me on many levels. Her essays are well written and energetic and her illustrations are also unique. I also appreciated the essays are about a page each so this is a good book to be able to read in short bursts as well as all at once.

Amy: Nevertheless, She Wore It gives an overview of some iconic fashions and quickly hits the high points of why they were frowned upon at the time and what they came to symbolize. Organized alphabetically, only two to four pages long, and with a stylized picture at the end, each section concise and easy to understand. The sole, admittedly minor, gripe I have is that time period bounces around from section to section because the text is ordered alphabetically rather than chronologically, but that's not a major issue let alone a deal-breaker. I was a tad annoyed starting out that actual images were not included, but the stylized artwork is good and puts the emphasis on the clothing being spotlighted, which I think was the point. (Also, I didn't notice until I finished the book and went to write this review, but the artwork appears to be same as in the author's other books, thus giving Nevertheless, She Wore It a look that harmonizes with the other books on similar topics that this author has published, which was undoubtedly intentional.) Luiza: Purchased this book to offer it as a gift for my friend who loves fashion. Nice information and colourful illustrations designed by a talented artist. Easy to read and I recommend it to any fashion enthusiast.
