Ruth Corbett: I needed to landscape a hill that deer can access. Some pictures, but not enough. Only botanical names are used and no way to picture the examples called out.

Hank W: Very informative! Just maybe when I replace the perennials the deer ate/damaged last year will deter them if I follow the choices in the book.

Annette: Very interesting book, have to study it properly before spring! Will probably help a lot to choose the right kinds of plants.

Gail: If your property has more than enough temporary fences and other deer barriers and still you have lost precious trees, shrubs, and plants to a hungry deer population, this book offers practical help. It begins by discussing the land itself, how you can shape the various elevations, create natural-looking pathways and barriers, and make browsing more difficult for these foraging creatures.
The author uses most of the book to carefully introduce 50 deer resistant plants, shrubs, and trees. He gives the scientific and common names, the soil and light requirements, the hardiness zone spread, and an excellent photo for each of the fifty, along with discussions of their hybrid cultivars and their best companion plants. Oh deer! I can’t wait to get started planning my landscaping, using this book as my guide.

Jon A Schmidt: If you are like me and like in a high deer population area then this book is very helpful. Know that if you persist in planting hostas and flavorful roses some deer will still jump your fence!

Gypsy Flynn: Worked at the nursery part time. First question out of everyone’s mouth is what plants do deer not eat. So this book came in handy for there and home. I live way back in the woods on 40 acres that we let nature take its course but when it comes to my gardens I want no deer eating my Oasis
