A. J. Gauld: This is a good selection of classic pop hits. A few are easy to play with just 3 or 4 chords and suitable for a beginner but most are more complex. They would form a good basis for building a sing-a-long repertoire once you have the basics under your belt.

Jennifer Olsen: I'm primarily a vocalist, learning ukulele so I can accompany myself and/or lead others in singing. I saw that other reviewers had commented on only one verse being in the music charts, and the rest being added at the end, but I didn't figure it mattered much. But...it really does. If you want to sing along (or lead sing-alongs) having lyrics with no chords at the end of the song doesn't make one lick of sense. It's not like it's even saving paper as it's the same number of horizontal lines taking up page space either way. So while the song list is nice and most are pretty easy to play, this is still the last book I reach for when I'm practicing.

MiaDearMia: Lovely collection of songs, well edited, well printed.
As far as choice of songs though... that could have been better. Still worth buying, but certainly not the "first 50" on the ukulele!
Another gap is focus on chords, very little voice lines - even for beginners, there are plenty of songs and variants allowing these, and the books falls quite short here.
Overall though, not bad at all for the price.
