Visit the FREE VILLAGE Store to get the best Ice Makers on the market. Lila: Hello All,
For this product, the highlights are that it is incredibly easy to use, and provides a good output of ice. The downsides however... are quite numerous. The machine seems to be quite prone to breaking (This is my 2nd in the timespan of 6 months and I have opted to buy a different model to save myself a headache) The product support is very limited, even though it says that it has 1 year warranty, it does not. The machine is notoriously difficult to keep clean as well. If this product were to work and have longevity in it's use (and preferably, easier to clean as well) then this would be well worth the money. However, in my opinion, it is not worth it. I have instead opted to buy a ~$100 ice machine that I know will outperform this in all aspects (New model of the one I previously had before I purchased this one).

M. Linhart: First of all, the User Manual is a very poor translation from whatever the seller's language may be. In this day and age, translation services are plentiful and useful in making something readable to the buyer. My experience was one of futility. Secondly, Customer Service is unlikely. I called the number listed, got voice mail, left a msg, and then received a text. I had ONE question, and whoever was texting me would not provide the answer. They kept asking for my email. And then said it would be 48 hours before I received an answer. I still have not received an answer. Not by text, email, or phone. There must be an easier way to get an answer to what the Plus and Minus signs do for the ice making process. Customer Service can't seem to help no matter how many times I asked my ONE question. The machine has a self-clean process, but the manual is not clear at all on how to do the self clean and nothing on the front is intuitive. And I am not willing to spend half my day or more trying to get Customer Service to react. Otherwise, the machine does its main job well. Makes wonderful ice.

Amy ImbresciaAmy Imbrescia: Love love this thing! You have to accept the fact that you're going to have wet ice if you have a countertop ice maker. (Unless you spend $500 or $600 on one that has a solid freezer built in). Our ice maker went out in our freezer and I did a ton of research before buying this one. Now it sits happily on our bar and makes our drinks nice and cold and it makes me very happy.
Things to love: it makes cubes not bullets and they are awesome. They are clear if you use filtered water which we use our reverse osmosis water. It knocks out easily 20 lb of ice in less than half a day. You can leave the ice in it it takes a long time to melt and if it melts it uses the melt and makes new ice. You do not have to drain this on a daily basis.
Little nuances: the ice is definitely wet. All we do is take a ziplock bag fill the ice that we want to put in our freezer and is it block bag first stick it in the freezer for 10 minutes so it hardens up and then we dump it in the bin. Otherwise you can just leave this thing on your counter making ice as is. It's very easy to fill but it is recommended to drain maybe once every two weeks, there is a little drain plug in the back. Just to get...

P Foster: Bought to replace another machine that had the tray that froze the ice onto the prongs. I was a bit worried at the price, but this machine is great! Makes ice fast, a lot more quiet and better ice. Less moving parts. I really hope it lasts. I really like that the water seems to keep circulating while the machine is on, standing water was a problem with the other machine. Self clean works pretty well. I will need to use a vinegar solution every so often but so far I feel that it’s pretty sanitary.
Cons: I wish the finished ice area could accommodate more ice.
I would like to be able to disassemble for good cleaning- the fill area cover does not come off, the drip tube has to be cleaned in place and I would like to get a brush into clean the evaporator section. Just a wish list really - no deal breakers.
There was some staining in the plastic area where the water flows down from drip tube onto evaporator that disrupted the water flow, a bit of 1000 grit sand paper cleaned it up and works like a champ.
Would recommend this ice maker, like I said though, I hope the valves, pump and cooling mechanisms hold up. I have not found any literature to help repair in case of...

DreaMommyMia: Well it was a superstar for a little over a year and a half! It ran 12-14 hrs a day nonstop for that time and made perfect ice quickly. I would start it up when Ingot up in the morning and had ice within 10min or so. I always used filtered water.
It’s a little difficult to clean - hard to get into the crevices and the spouts where the water flows over the freezer grates and I believe that caused it’s ultimate demise. Now the water jets shoot straight out and there’s not enough flowing over the grates to make ice.
The price was great and it was a great workhorse while it lasted.
