DeeAnn Hulse: I have a pair of 40"×16" metal peg board sections hanging from 6 of these (each) and they're super solid. It sounds like some folks are trying to use a power drill to install the anchors (you should be doing it by hand with a screw driver), without drilling a pilot hole, and then over-tightening the screws, and that's stripping and breaking the anchors. Installed correctly; with an adequate sized pilot hole and a screw driver, and then taking care not to over-tighten the screws so the anchors don't strip out; and these are sturdy enough for most household needs.

Christopher: I don't know what the negative reviews are talking about. Just drill a small pilot hole and you're in business. Yeah, these don't self tap well. But I have everything from shelves to hardware cabinets to medicine cabinets hanging from these bad boys. Sturdy and easy to use. Would order again.

KAM Ontario: My hands are not very strong and these are easy to use in gyproc when you cant find a stud. I am happy with my purchase. I put up several shelves that seem quite stury using these. Handy thing to have around when you need them.

Jean: I predrilled a skinnier hole into my wall (plaster), then I used a hand drill with a philips screw bit to drive in the anchor. It got “stuck” and so I had to use a screwdriver and push really hard while turning in order to get it flush against the wall. The plastic did not strip down or break like some others hangs described. The screws that come with it work fine. Once I got the anchor into the wall, it was very easy to screw the screw in with a screwdriver. I tried to move it around to see if it was loose and it was not — felt nice and sturdy. I used it to hang a heavy framed certificate.

Warren: The plastic on these plugs is far too soft. The screwdriver strips them when they are three-quarters of the way into the wall, making them impossible to drive further (and near impossible to extract). Self-drilling? Not hardly. They strip even when there are holes pre-drilled to take them.

mr dead: I am so happy to have these. It's not even worth promoting the benefit of them. If you have ever bought wall shelving and had to use those awful drywall anchors, ugh. The cheap plastic ones break when you hit them with a hammer, or pop out and fly all over the place.
These anchors are great for me. Just drill the hole and screw these in.
Couldn't be any easier and it's far more efficient too.

Alex I: Good for some projects but if you are installing something a bit heavy use a different type of anchor.
I'd say anything heavier than 10-15lb you should use a different type of anchor. I also have similar ones but metal, those would be good for heavier stuff.
As for ease of installation, definitely easy, you just need a Philips screwdriver and a hammer. Using a cordless drill to screw it in you'd end up messing the anchor and won't be able to screw it in all the way if you are not careful and apply a lot of force. Hand screw might be a better choice

Mys M: These work great and are really easy to use. I make a small starter hole and then it’s so easy to screw it in right where you want it. Very strong.
