Amazon Customer: The color system doesn’t go along with oorf, so it could cause confusion later on.
Thismethod is unconventional to make learning easier, but it’s the same amount of work, so save money and time. Buy any other beginner ukulele book. As a music teacher, I love the colorful pages and color system, but it’s the wrong color system to go with other similar books.

Sandy Shopper: Very nice book to point you in the right direction and have fun with a new Ukulele! I like the songs in the book and it does a nice job introducing your Ukulele. Everyone has to begin somewhere.

Maria: I bought this as a present for my little brother who had just started the ukulele about a month prior. I sat with him for 5 minutes and explained how to read the music. Even with his limited knowledge, he was able to play most of the songs in the book. The songs he couldn't play were just barely too difficult and definitely within reach with enough practice, which leaves plenty of room for growth! Great book and totally worth it.

Monique: C'est un bon petit recueil de chansons connues dans le folklore américain. On peut choisir de jouer les mélodies ou les accords. Système de notation très simple pour un habitué de la guitare. Pour un non-initié à la guitare, ce sera évidemment un peu plus laborieux. Je vais tenter de trouver l'équivalent avec du répertoire francophone.

A. Kuehnel: I bought this for my teenage students can tinker around on ukuleles and explore in the song book. It's very easy to follow but not too immature for teen learners. I'd recommend this for any age students.

Georgia Y. Bonney: I teach beginning ukulele and purchased this book to give sheet music to my students. I love it. Using just this book, I can teach chords (found at the top), TAB (which no other book I could find had), and staff reading. The book is not meant to 'teach' music, but rather to share easy versions of music [which is not clear in a handful of reviews]. I love the variety of chords and the familiarity of the songs in the book. The fingering of the chords is always shown at the top as well, which is extremely helpful for students and teachers alike. To be clear, I began learning ukulele on my own and did not have a reference book until I purchased several to teach (this book included). Out of all the ukulele books I purchased (four), this was the only one with clear direction and familiarity. It's clear, simple, and wonderful. I recommend this to anyone taking lessons, teaching themself [please note that this book would be an additional book to learn songs out of], or teaching. Thank you so much for this resource!
