E. A. Jacques: I bought these to use on my deck where I sit occasionally to relax and/or meditate. I was not all that concerned about them keeping bugs away I just got them for the ambience and smell which I like. I wish they were a little larger, but I knew what to expect so not surprised. Thirty hours might be a bit of a stretch, but they seem to burn well enough and give off enough scent without being overpowering.
I would have given 4.5 stars only because they seem a bit pricey to get a full five stars. That said after a long search it does seem to be one of the best deals out there, so I might end up buying them again. They did come very nicely packaged so you can leave them in the box until needed and even store them for when it's too cold to sit outside.

GL, Chicago: I gave 4 stars because the box arrived with some wax out of the glass jug. I like the smell and it lasted for 4 hours and I still have 4/5 of the candle in the glass jug. I have to keep the candle close enough, about 1.5 feet next to me. It worked well to keep the flies away.
