Amazon Customer: it is used on top of wood burning stove without a fan , this provides good movement of air also silent seems to be well built it has only been used for one winter , hoping to get many years of use from this unit . it also looks nicer than the plain black .

Chris L: I have a gas stove. And I keep the gas flow fairly low, which is still plenty to warm up my entire place. But the stove doesn't get hot enough to make this fan run hard enough to push air. If you put your hand right in front of it, you can barely feel it.

If I turn my gas way up, then the fan runs faster (of course). But for me, it's just not doing very much. Though it acts a bit like a thermometer. I can tell how hot the stove is, or if it recently ran, just by looking if the fan is running.

The fan itself is just fine. It's quiet. It looks good. The blade is the size of the total body of the fan. So if there is any kind of groove or lip on your stove top, the fan can end up hitting it, and not being able to spin. So it has to be placed on a nice flat area. It would be really nice if the fan was raised up a bit from the bottom of the base.

Mike: Bought it for a Mr.heater buddy heater and it is not great for that use, the base is to wide and it is a little heavy and big for that, I
was expecting it to spin faster so it does not push a lot of air, but starts turning in a short time, I drilled 2 small holes in the base to add a bracket to support it on my heater so I have no choice but to keep it. This was my first type of fan of this sort so I can not compare it to others, it seems well made but has no fan protection so be careful not to drop it, I would not buy one again for the amount of air it pushes but maybe they are all the same
