Jacob Woods: Not sure why there's so many negative reviews on this. I used this stuff to attach a spoiler to my trunk lid and it held no problem for 3 years. Survived many car washes, rain, snow, hot summers, and high speeds. I just recently removed the spoiler because I'm replacing with another. If you need to remove/detatch whatever is being held together with this tape, I recommend using some heat (heat gun or hair dryer worked fine for me) and I used some fishing line to pull between the spoiler and trunk. Came apart relatively easily, but there's no way it was coming off unintentionally. Will be buying more of this for the new spoiler I'm putting on and would definitely recommend for automotive applications. Just make sure you prep properly and apply on flat surfaces.

gadget guy: Used this tape to secure my LIFX z strip led lights to back of my tv. Tape on the strip lights are useless and falls off after one day. I just simply applied this 3m foam tape directly to the existing double sided tape already on the strip lights . Make sure to remove the paper cover on the existing strip lights and the 3m tape so that both sticky sides are pressed to each other
Amazon same day didn’t happen. Had to wait until next day!

Alfons Atia: Much Smaller than the Picture shows, sucks that they have to resort to false advertising to sell you things

briann55: 3M makes several different types of VHB tape. The specific tape you need depends on the material you are bonding. Using the correct tape will make a huge difference. The best way to ensure you buy the correct tape is to ask 3M. Below is a link to the VHB tape section of 3M's website. You will find a chat button on the page. It only takes a few minutes and they will tell you exactly what tape you need.

Regardless of which version you use, it's extremely important to apply it correctly. This includes cleaning both surfaces to remove any oil, dirt, residue, etc.. 99% isopropyl alcohol works great for this. After the surfaces are bonded you must apply pressure to activate the bond. Then it takes 72 hours for the bond to fully cure.
If you use the correct tape and apply it correctly, you'll love this stuff and find hundreds of uses for it

TXgungirl: Wow! This stuff is STRONG!!!
I'd never heard of VHB tape until I saw a show on the History (2) Channel. I think it was "Modern Marvels" that was all about sticky stuff. On the show it mentioned that this stuff (specifically this 3M brand) is actually used in building, using it to attach GLASS...those huge glass panels such as those on a skyscraper to the building. I was blown away thinking "they're using TAPE to hold up those HUGE glass panels?!?" I'm quite sure though that the VHB they use is MUCH wider than this! lol
Anyway, we needed something to hold our large window valences (for 1" blinds) in place since the plastic clips aren't the easiest things to work with, especially since it's so hard to find the right ones. Well, we used small pieces of this double sided VHB tape and Voilà! They are stuck but good now!
A tip...make sure to press and hold for a little bit. It will most definitely make short work of projects that require a strong double sided bond!

Paul J. Blankenship: I build a 5 keg kegerator for home brew and needed to find a way to the the gas manifold in place. I could have drilled holes, but I really wanted to avoid the risk of puncturing a line and making the kegerator worthless. I bought a roll of this and cut down a length of 2x4. I covered one side of the 2x4 with this an attached to the top of the inside of the fridge side and screwed the manifold on to the 2x4. Worked like a champ until I accidentally pulled it loose. I could not reattached it (hence the loss of a star) so I had to toss what I had already used and reapply. When I tore it off the 2x4 it did bring some of the wood with it so it had definitely stuck well to that side. 2 months later it's hanging just fine with the weight of the manifold and the gas lines being tugged around in a 36-38 degree environment.

Nick and Lea: I don't know why some people are having problems with this tape. Modern Marvals did a skit on this tape, those guys know thier stuff. This VHB tape is super sticky after the cure time. I must admit, I was scepticle at first because the tape is not very sticky at first. I bought it to attach a battery powered LED light to my bathroom ceiling above the bath tub. The ceiling is tile that normal double sided tape would not stick to. After a few days I decided the light needed to be moved over a few inches. The light housing broke when I tryed to move it, which was made of fairly thick plastic. The tape would not let go of the broken piece which was still stuck to the tile. I had to put some wieght into it to get it off the ceiling. I Reinstalled another light with no failure. I have since used this tape for mounting other things without fail. Tip: I found you must prepare the surfaces that are being attached by using some rubbing alcohol, and let dry. Wipe clean any residue left behind and apply the tape, you have 3 days to remove the tape before it is stuck for good.
