Liam: The bolt works well, I would have preferred the notches that hold the bolt in the upper position to have been bigger. But it does the job and I would recommend this item.

Bonnie Strong: I have a steel double swing gate I installed these on and they work great. They are better than the ones I bought from the box store. They were easy to install but the directions could be better, easy to figure out though. Had a small problem with one rod fitting through the guide, used the rod to adjust the bottom holes to line them up.

Sylvia Gaspar: Had to replace one of my drop rods to my rod iron gate. Purchased this one and it worked out great. It is heavy, has two latches. One for securing the rod with the opening for the rod to go up and down. The second latch is there just as a guide to drop into the hole. It is sturdy and a bit heavy. Easy to install. I do recommend that you use a 3/4" concrete bit. This drop rod will fit right into it easily. greg California

toeknee26: The drop rod and brackets are heavy duty. The self tapping screws are soft. I installed this on a steel gate and stripped the cross head on every screw. The self tapping part of the screws barely made it through the steel gate. I upgraded to hex head self tapping screws which made it through the steel no problem. I recommend upgrading before you install it. My recommendation to the manufacturer is to include hex head self tapping fasteners as heavy duty as the drop rod.

ahemiahemi: Good quality. Anyone installing these will have variance issues... all you have to do is just adjust screws in the brackets to where there is enough opening for the rod. If you over tighten screws it will throw off the anticipated operation of the bracket. Just back the screws out a little and it should work after minor adjustments. I like the fact that mine is tight to lift up. I was lucky in the fact that I could drill a 3/4 Hole into concrete about 1 1/2 inches to have the rods drop in where I wanted the fence to be stabilized.
My fence isn’t opened a lot so knowing these secure it like a post would is satisfying.

R. Hyne: Purchased two of these for my large aluminum gates. Easy to install. I used painter's tape to mark where to drill the holes. Then remove the tape prior to installing bracket. Be sure to understand how the rod works with the upper bracket.
