SandyG: I use these mainly for my embroidery threads. The holders keep the thread ends in place without having the open and close the bottom of the spools. It’s a lot easier as well as a lot less work.

Julie: These do work well, but if you are storing a good number of thread spools they sure add to the bulk of your thread pile. They have stopped the thread tangles I was experiencing before, but I'm old enough to remember when thread spools always came with their own little cut into the wood, plastic or foam to hold their own thread ends. That would be the best.
