SEJOONG LEE: This product is nearly perfect! I bought this for myself, and my dad (senior) and it works wonders. Just after few weeks of taking this product, its positive effects are clearly visible! I have tried herbal teas (helps sleeping), magnesium supplements, and even melatonin. Melatonin worked perfectly for improving sleep schedule, however, it didn't have the overall calmness and wellbeing that this supplement brought. Here is some pros and cons to consider before buying.

Pros:
-Helps with sleeping and waking up not feeling exhausted, but refreshed
-Alot of freedom on when to take this supplement-- taking it before bed and early morning has not made any difference for me.
-Smell is not horrible. Prior to buying, looking at some reviews, there are some that said the smell was horrible, but as for the one I bought, there was no foul smell.
-Helps with anger management, mood swings, etc.

Cons:
After looking at the ingredient list, 5-hydroxytrptophan, commonly known as 5-HTP, there were some side effects that could occur such as:
-Diarrhea
-Heartburn
-Stomach Pain
-Nausea
-Drowsiness

Personally, myself I have not experienced any of these...

TraceyTracey: As soon as I opened this bottle the smell was horrendous. I took the bottle to a pharmacy who said not to touch them they are off. So, apart from having a sticker over the directions of use, I think these were an absolute rip off. Cost me a lot to get them to Australia only to throw them out.

AnneB: As someone who is going through hormonal imbalance with symptoms such as moodiness, ravenous appetite and trouble sleeping, I'm glad I found this supplement! I have tried other brands, and while they somewhat worked, I believe this formula by Dr. Emil delivered a much noticeable outcomes. At least for me.

The pills are in good size, so they're easy to swallow. No side effects thus far - at four weeks at the time of writing.

LKJ: I have been dealing with depression, insomnia, PTSD, waking up throughout the night, anxiety, etc. for over a decade now. I am also in menopause. I've been trying different herbs and supplements for health for literally 3.5 decades. All the prescription pharmaceuticals for depression react badly with me, I've noticed the Xanax for anxiety exacerbates depression, and while the new sleep medication, bellsomra, seems to work ok (the others like ambien and lunesta were not so nice), I REALLY don't like taking something that is creates dependency. I've taken melatonin, 5 htp and sam-E in the past before but with no observable effect on sleep or mood! That's expensive! I started taking this 5-htp plus formula two weeks ago, though I started at half dose and skipped a couple doses the first week. So I didn't notice much difference that first week. Especially coupled with a couple nights using my samples of bellsomra or needing Xanax (which makes me feel super groggy for over 12 or so hours even after a full night's sleep. Shelby: I have experienced bouts of depression and anxiety on and off throughout the course of my teen and young adult life. I had a traumatic brain injury when I was 10 years old and can recall a dramatic shift in my mood since the accident. I have also been diagnosed with Adult ADHD and I am prescribed adderall. I have tried several different prescriptions from doctors to try and battle my depression and anxiety.

Each anti-depressant left me with insomnia and 3 hours or less of sleep. This was negatively impacting my job and personal life. My doctors would then try a different medication after a two month trial of whichever medication I was on to see if my body would adjust to the symptoms but the problems persisted with each medication. I had tried a different brand of 5-HTP without the serotonin synthesis and the product was not as effective as this one. I have asked several different doctors on several occasions to test and see if I had deficiencies that would cause this so we could treat the problem and not the symptoms. They hadn't listened to my requests. I kept changing doctors until I found one who will listen.
