Roger: Only didn't give it the fifth star because it doesn't say squat about what actual tools to use. Don't know whether or not that's a thing that's usually included, but I got this because I don't know squat about working on my bike and wanted to learn. Was hoping it would tell me what tools/socket sizes I'm using to remove whatever it's telling me to, but that's a small hurdle.

Christopher Brick: In the days of the internet, it's pretty easy to find information about how to fix a motorcycle, but getting exact specs for your exact year can be a long search. This manual has all the torque specs and procedures in an easy to find and read format. Worth every penny, IMHO. I've pulled the front and rear wheels, adjusted the clutch, and adjusted the throttle cables using this manual and it was great having the book right next to me while I was working.

BobChopper: Best Service Manual. This book explains in easily understood terms and language how to perform basic and detailed maintenance on your HD motorcycle. A must for all Harley owners who want to perform their own maintenance and service checks. It's a money saver.

D. Davis: This book is big and complete. Unless you own multiple Harley models listed in here, you'll never use most of it. However!! The cost of this book is about the same as others that are written for just 1 model, so that in itself makes it a bargain.
The diagrams and instructions are clear. The pictures are black and white, which can sometimes make it difficult to tell what's what, but the pictures are clear enough that if you look at them side-by-side with your bike, you can figure out what you're looking at.
Some of the instructions could be more directing. For instance, some instructions refer to other instructions in the book (i.e. to access XYZ, you need to remove ABC following the instructions to remove ABC) without giving you a page number to go to. It's easy enough to find the references by flipping to the index, but it makes for a lot of back-and-forth if you're not already familiar with the book. In this respect, I would have given it a 3.
Now, when you get into electrical problems, this is where the money is. The book comes with a CD that includes how to read the DTCs (if applicable) and wiring schematics. It's on Adobe and a free Adobe Reader is...
